Bloodstains on the pillowcases of our freshly made beds after a long checkin process. Called to ask for a new pillowcases. Housekeeper delivered while eating a nectarine--oops--nectarine juice all over the replacements. Lackidasical, "Oh," when I pointed the issue out. I'd never stay here again--it's so not worth saving a few $.

Booked a room, checked in and all was good, save a little bit of a dumpy property.
When I got my VISA bill, problem. I got charged a no show rate for a full night because they screwed up and reserved my room the day BEFORE I was to show. When I showed up, I said I had a reservation and checked in without issue.
I left a number of messages for the owner and he never bothered to return my call. I guess since he had 2X the money he was due, there was no reason to get back to me.
I can't stand people that do business this way and I wanted others to know about my experience.

Mediocre
Close to destination.Outdated furnishings, ceiling leak into a bucket. It was close to SOU and met our budget. Ok for a night if a bed & shower is all you needed. I would not stay here again. The dingy paint and ceiling dripping into a bucket in the ...

Good
The breakfast was gross. The bagels were stale and the cream cheese had gone bad. For a super 8 this was a pretty nice place to stay. We were very pleased. The only thing I would try to avoid is the breakfast which consisted of stale bagels and...

Front desk was less than friendly when checking in. Room was average which is ok considering what we paid, but even a cheap hotel should have working lights. The bathroom light was out. Told front desk about it, said they would "see if they could find someone to fix it". Returned to hotel later that night, light was still out. Had to shower and go to the bathroom with door wide open which provided just barely enough light to see. Otherwise it would have been completely in the dark. Tile was falling off the wall around the toilet. The AC worked but looked like it had been smashed with a baseball bat. The whole front grate was missing. At 5:00pm, very excited after a hot day to jump in the pool but pool was closed with no reason given. Overall, I didn't like the hotel but it was a place to sleep for cheap money. You get what you pay for with this hotel.

The hotel has a good location for the Shakespeare festival. The room was dirty and the sink and the tub were clogged. I will seek other lodging for the Shakespeare festival next time.
I am not likely
to return to the Super 8 Ashland.
I would not recommend it to friends.
