Sunset Inn and Suites Clinton Hotel - Page 1

This was just a quick overnight get-away, and yes fantasy suites can be cheesy, but there's just something about getting away from the norm that makes the stay really fun. The pictures online don't do it justice, and we actually had the desk clerk take us on a tour of the other themed rooms that weren't in use, and I would definitely want to go back to try out the cave suite! It was so cool! The only thing that travelers might not like about the Odyssey Suite is that the bathroom has no door! It was made to look like an entrance into another room on the "spaceship," and the desk clerk said that a sliding door would have worked, but the guy who designed it just couldn't get it to work out because of where the plasma TV was positioned on the wall...you'd understand what I mean if you saw it. Anyway, if you don't have a problem with your husband or significant other hearing you pee, then all is well. But if you've got to "do" the other, then you'll either want to make your man wait out in the hall...or rent a different room! ;)

NOTHING RESEMBLED A HOTEL ROOM!! Not only did I not get the room/type reserved - supposedly it was upgraded -but the matress/box springs thrown on the floor vibrated from machinery on the floor underneath, there was no lighting except for the ceiling fluorescents, stacks of chairs/tables were pushed against the walls, etc. The staff did NOTHING - told me this was the most popular room (found out later it was for kiddie overnite parties). I checked out in a blinding storm 2 hours after checking in....The most appalling was that I WAS CHARGED FOR THIS ROOM!!! Anyone would be CRAZY to book a room with Sunset Inn and Suites in Clinton, Illinois.

The hotel had a wonderful atmosphere and beautiful rooms with all the amenities you could want.

This hotel made me feel entertained: The room had a huge jacuzzi tub, a large steam shower, a dry sauna, a widescreen plasma TV and surround sound with TV's and stereo.

My husband and I stayed here about 2 years ago for his birthday.....and we loved it! We stayed in the "Cave Room". Fantasy Suites may sound a little cheesy but these are not! The whole room was done very tastefully. All the walls in the Cave Room were covered with moldings to look and feel like a real cave. The bed is circular and leaves something to be desired but it is a tempurpedic so if you like those it would suit you. The room has a television with a DVD player so you can go to the local video store instead of renting off of pay per view. The hot tub was very nice and had changing colored lights. The shower was really great! It was the size of a small bathroom in itself! It had a bench to sit on if you wanted to enjoy the sauna feature and also two showers both with nozzles that aim at your head, torso, and legs. There was also a "waterfall" feature inside the shower so you could have the water pour down onto you. All of these features could be turned off and on independently. The room also a lot of special lighting that you could turn off and on separately along with a gas fireplace. There are many other amenities that I haven't even touched on. The hotel itself has a pool table area plus a really nicely decorated indoor pool area. Every person that we dealt with was exceptionally nice. We are going back in two weeks to stay in the Arabian Nights room and we can't wait! I have talked to quite a few couples who have stayed in these suites and they all loved them! We usually go on a weeknight so we get the cheaper rate. Hope you check this place out!
