The Summer Cottage Inn was commissioned to be built in 1867 by Samuel Harrison as a family summer vacation cottage in historical Cape May, New Jersey. It was designed and built in the Italianate style by the renowned architect Stephen Decatur Button.
The Harrisons enjoyed their summer home for only four weeks of the year. The Victoria home design offers a cupola, which can be seen on the top of the Inn. Believe it or not years ago that was considered Victorian air conditioning.
The Summer Cottage Inn is perfectly situated one block from the beach, close to the Victoria Mall and several restaurants for dining. For the past 20 years we have extended Victorian warmth, charm, and grace to our guests. Let us welcome you to your next New Jersey vacation or romantic weekend getaway to The Summer Cottage Inn.
