Studio 6 Phoenix Deer Valley Hotel

I stayed at this hotel for about 5 weeks in 11/06 - 12/06 and overall the experience was decent for the price.

On the day I checked in, I discovered my jeans were stained with oil and dirt from the carpets in the room. The manager offered to change my room, but couldn't do anything about the replacement or cleaning cost for the pants.

At the time I checked out there was a balance on my account and my credit card was having problems so I had to go over to the bank to work it out. When I did return to the hotel to settle up the manager insisted the balance be paid in cash. I later found out that he'd pocketed the money and left a balance of almost $700 on my account. What's more, nearly half of my belongings had disappeared from the room and were later recovered from the residences of the general manager and the night manager. It took me almost two weeks and numerous police reports to get my things back.

This is a fine low cost extended stay hotel as long as you don't let yourself get duped by the staff.
