Happy days at the Flanders. What a great location and what beautiful suites. This hotel is so clean and pretty, but the biggest advantage is that the "suites" are really condos with 2 rooms and full kitchens. We were impressed and will be back.
I am very likely
to return to the Strathcona Park Lodge.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

Horror House. Several years ago we stayed at the Flanders over the Christmas Holidays. During the night of Christmas Eve we became deathly ill from food poisoning from seafood from a local restaurant. I was sick in our room restroom and my husband had gone down in the elevator to the downstairs men's room. He passed out in the elevator. The doors were opening and shutting on his face causing extensive damage only 25 feet from the night attendant's desk. The attendant never got up in the over half hour he was unconscious. When he finally regained consciousness, he was pouring blood from a face and head wound. He passed 3 feet in front of the guard and the man never got up or even enquired if he was OK. He made it back up to our room where we had to call 911 ourselves and they transported us to the hospital. Calls to the management was never returned. My husband's family has stayed at the Flanders' for the last 5 generations but never again! On the other hand I cannot say enough about the local ambulance and fire department. They are my heros!

Worst experience of my life.. The hotel is mediocre at best. Ok for a beach hotel, but by no means a luxury hotel. The worst part however, was that the top rail of the bunk bed my son was on broke and he fell out of it onto his head. After rushing to the hospital and having my son there for 3 hours with a concussion, you would think the hotel would try to do the right thing. Instead there was no apology, no compensation for the room, nothing. We had to leave the beach because my son couldn't be in the heat or go on rides. They charged us for the entire stay even though we only stayed one night! I will NEVER set foot in that hotel or give them one cent again. Buyer beware. It is not a hotel, but a condo association posing as a hotel. If you are wondering if this is true...we filed a police report.
