Stony Brook Motel is located in the heart of Beautiful Downtown Gatlinburg, TN within walking distance of the major attractions. 25 year old female with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
The location was great, however the rooms were lacking, the mattresses were sunk in (you could feel the springs) also there were no amenities in the room as far as ice bags, shampoo, soap or enough towels. This hotel is at red light one in Gatlinburg and also dose not offer continental breakfast and you have to pay for your ice. The rate was awesome, but I won't return here.

28 year old female with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
My mom and I booked this motel thinking we were getting a great deal. However, upon canceling our reservation due to poor reviews, no one would help us cancel at this motel. The man over the phone stated they do not allow cancellations. We checked the policy prior to booking and were told that we could cancel 24 hours in advance. They charged our credit card anyway.
Upon our arrival in Gatlinburg we went to discuss the charges with the manager. The staff at the desk wouldn’t even discuss this matter with us, they stated they had not charged our card and started getting irate. My mom and I left very upset and discouraged. Yet, we were glad we had not stayed in this motel. The site we booked our reservation with stated this motel was one block from downtown, it’s more like one mile, the office had a horrible smell and was not clean at all. The pool was extremely run down and the motel had obviously been let go as far as upkeep goes. I wouldn’t recommend this motel to anyone.

This motel is NOT in the heart of downtown Gatlinburg...it is at stoplight #1, while the "heart" (Ripley's aquarium) is at stoplight #6. Yes, you can walk to downtown, but it is NOT a short walk.
