We had our softball fastpitch team stay in eleven rooms and all were great! The renovations done in March 08 look great. The kitchen had granite counter tops, tile floor, new carpet and very stylish Duvet. The bathroom was very clean and new also. We had two young kids, twelve year old daughter and my husband and I. The room may be a little compact but wasn't bad at all. We were also able to cook out using the Hotel grill and enjoy a nice outdoor sitting arrangement behind the Hotel. The pool is nice and the laundry facility was free!! Clean uniforms for the girls. Hotel is located next to several restaurants, hospital (just in case) a grocery store across the street and just 10 min's away from MU and Rainbow softball fields! Highly recommend the Staybridge Hotel!! The service was great and the hot breakfast was good. Thanks for a wonderful weekend.

Staff was less than helpful. Rooms are not clean and there was absolutely no communication between individuals working at the front desk and management. If you have concerns good luck in getting a manager to return a phone call. Management is NOT on ...

My stay at this hotel was a nightmare!! During their "renovation" I found myself standing out in the parking lot at 4:30 in the morning as the fire trucks came to squelch a kitchen fire!! I also picked up 2 nails in the parking lot from their renovation.

As far as the room-- all chairs are uncomfotable. Bed seems comfortable enough. The light at the vanity did not work. The TV in the bedroom did not work.

Despite numerous complaints to the front desk. . . housekeeping is a nightmare. They only managed to completely clean the room 1 time a week. Trash was not taken out for 3 days in a row. (Finally I had to do it)!!

Front desk overcharged me twice during the first two weeks of my stay. After multiple calls and multiple trips to front desk this was finally straightened out!!

I had originally booked a 1o week stay but cancelled the remaining 6 weeks to stay at a competing hotel.

The only positive thing I can think of about this hotel is the hot breakfast and mevening meal (Tues-Thurs) and the free newspaper. That is about it!!

Overall, if you are planning to come to this hotel for business-- you will spend more time working out billing and housekeeping issues with the front desk then you will concentrating on your business at hand.

I felt like a VIP staying in this hotel.

Hawthorne has nice size suites, a PC in the room (instead of just hookups), and a full breakfast bar. I have stayed there three times and never had a bad experience.

I felt important because of the personal service, warm, friendly and smiling faces.

When we got to the hotel and went up to our room, the cleaning people were still in the room, laughing and joking around with each other, so we had to go back down to the front desk and the guy at the desk had to give us a new room.
