Star Hotel

If you like well kept OLD that has an old-west feel, and I do.

I love the feel of this place, the common area around a fireplace where I met and shared with strangers.

I was there when it was still a hostel. Glad to find it is still there and I plan to stay again soon now. For me this is a ten because there is just nothing like it.

It is not for everyone. If you want luxury, stay away. If you want a connected bath, stay away. Those items are nice, but this place just blows all that away for me.

I loved everything about the Star Hotel, I was the manager from 1987 to 1994 when it was an international youth hostel. I can't think of anything to hate about the Star Hotel,

I loved every minute, of every day of each month and every year.

Even when it was 45 % below zero and the fuel was frozen, we had the fireplace and lots of great guests.
