We stayed here for a weekend to be close to a music festival in Golden Gate Park. It was very convenient for us and there were plenty of food options available, all within walking distance.
Our top floor room was facing the park and felt rustic and cozy. The bathroom was pretty tiny and dated, but what do you expect in a historic Victorian? It's a good option for those who want to explore the park on foot.

I love this hotel and the folks that work there! I have to stay there a number of times each year due to its location near the hospital at UCSF. It has great charm. The rooms themselves are ok, but due to the San Francisco weather and the age of the hotel, it does not have air conditioning. The hotel is located close to many tourist attractions and the hotel staff is very knowledgeable. I plan on having a great time staying there since the employees seem to be dedicated to doing a good job!
This hotel made me feel important: The folks at the hotel are happy to help you out. The employees jump right in if you need anything or to help finding out the answer to a question. While you are at the hotel you feel like the people really care.
I am
very likely
to return to the Stanyan Park Hotel.

59 year old woman with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
The hotel was in Quaint Victorian style and had a small European feel. My room was extremely small. It was very close to Haight-Ashbury University district and Golden Gate Park. It was far from downtown but had good transportation.
