An unlikely escape for everyday, boring hotels

Good
It was a fantastic experience... because I thought we were going to go to another run of the mill, cookie cutter boring "I need to stay nearby" type of hotel. That is not this place.... this place is like being taken out of the mundane...
This is officially *my* hotel at this point. It is quite the escape... the colours, courtyards, plants... all whisking you away from the fact you need to sleep well on their comfy beds and get up for a conference around 7am.

Excellent
Rooms are very spacious, front desk was exceptional, great morning breakfast, very safe area with gated under ground garage. Would stay quite often with lower rates.

The Stanford Terrace Inn is a very clean and comfortable hotel. It has all the amenities, plus it's literally across the street from Stanford University. This hotel got my mother's stamp of approval, it was her "official hotel" during the many visits that she made to Stanford while I was a student there.

Excellent
The rooms are large and have all the amenities. The best feature is the huge bathroom and shower with temperature control. Nice landscaping and lots of parking. Breakfast is provided in the morning and cookies and lemonade in the afternoon.
38 year old male with a luxury budget, traveling for business
You know, business trips are a drag. I figure they are a few "lost" days, and if something awful happens, I am happy. However, the Stanford Terrace Inn was a pretty nice surprise. The hotel staff was very friendly in an honest way, and the grounds were quite pleasing. Obviously, this hotel was designed for the business traveler, with conference rooms and amenities everywhere. I'd stay there again for a conference, but not for a pleasurable weekend, in that case I'd get a B&B in the suburbs, or go for a hotel right in San Francisco.
