The Inn is very well maintained, the rooms are lovely, and the staff very attentive. The breakfast (included) is vegetarian and delicious. There are several great restaurants in the area if you prefer non-vegetarian for dinner. We went canoeing and hiking which made for a relaxing and fun weekend. I would highly recommend. The innkeepers even sent us a thank you note after we got home!

I can't disagree with anything that anyone has written here about this Inn. The rooms are very comfortable and the pool/spa is very nice. We always enjoy the gift shop even when we aren't staying here since it has kitties & dogs. Even...

My wife and I enjoyed our stay very much. This was not the first time that we stayed here. We are both avid cyclists and there are complimentary mountain bikes available to the guests. The pool here is also very nice and the rooms are well appointed. This spa is health centered and there are yoga classes, vegetarian food in the restaurant and no smoking anywhere on the grounds. It is a wonderful place to relax and rejuvenate.
I am very likely
to return to the Stanford Inn By the Sea.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

High marks for this place. Mendocino is not a fast paced place. You are fortunately forced to wind down and are forced to do it in some amazingly beautiful country.
The Inn is rustic, charming and very well appointed. The grounds are stunning and they have a special garden that draws in crowds.
We loved the easy access trails and the key fact that they allow dogs. This place has it all for us with the rustic comfort being a big part of it.
We like it not just for what the Inn has to offer but the locale of the Inn and the great time we had there. The staff is attentive but not intrusive and they seem to really like dogs and made sure we knew of the local hot spots as well as places to avoid.

The Mendocino area was relaxing enough but this hotel takes full advantage of the surroundings. There were beautiful views of the gardens, room to walk, cool breezes and well appointed rooms. The spa feeling with yoga classes was good. The indoor pool was wonderful. The vegetarian cuisine helped to melt away the tension of the real world.
