Since 1875, we?ve provided our guests with unparalleled service and incomparable experiences. Set on the banks of the Mississippi River and with history at our back, the St. James offers a setting few other establishments can boast. We hope you take full advantage of this perfect blend of history, setting and ambience.
The historic atmosphere begins here in your room. Each guest suite is thoughtfully decorated and themed ? from the one-of-a-kind quilt on the comfortable bed to the name on the door honoring one of the many grand old Mississippi riverboats. Outside your room, explore the hotel?s many common areas. Relax with a book in our stately library, enjoy the grandeur of the pipe organ in our historic lobby or marvel at the antique chandelier in the retail courtyard.
When it comes time to dine, we offer a variety of unique and inviting options. Savor a steak and glass of wine at The Port. Peruse the many appetizing menu options for breakfast or lunch at the Veranda. Grab a snack or Starbuck?s coffee at Clara?s. Take in a panoramic river view at The Patio & Porch. Or sip a well-aged Scotch at the classic bar inside Jimmy?s Pub.
Just outside our doors you?ll find a wealth of things to do and see in this charming river town. Stroll through the three riverside parks, catch a glimpse of the hundreds of resident and migratory bald eagles or visit the famous Red Wing Pottery factory. Set your own pace, and when you return to the hotel we?re here to take care of you

Our stay was worth every penny. My wife and I were both very impressed with the great hospitality shown by all - restaurant, front desk, housekeeping, etc. We will be back and would recommend the St. James to anyone.

Good
This hotel is a great place to go for a mini getaway or a vacation for those who aren't from Red Wing. It is in the heart of Red Wing and over looks the river. The staff is great, and it is a great spot to take formal photos.
The saint james hotel has great service.

Okay
The saint james hotel has great service. The waitress was very knowledgeable and friendly. The food did take along time to receive and was luke warm, although the service did make up for it somewhat.

This was one of the most enjoyable weekends away I have experienced! The check-in person was so helpful, we arrived early and they placed our room at the top of the list to get ready and it was waiting for us after strolling through some of their wonderful retail stores! We dined at The Port of Red Wing, wonderful atmosphere with great food and wine! Go to the St. James for a wonderful winter getaway!- I'm sure they're great in the summer too!:)
