The Spruce Point Inn Resort and Spa sits on a peninsula overlooking the ocean with unsurpassed views of Boothbay Harbor. You can relax on your deck and enjoy passing sailboats, see a lobsterman hauling his traps, or listen to the distant foghorn. The Spruce Point Inn is unique. With 103 lodgings spread over 57 beautifully landscaped acres it can either be described as a small resort or a large inn. Accommodations range from quaint cottages and Main Inn rooms to luxury lodges, all retaining a traditional New England ambiance. The Spruce Point Inn represents a century of history dating back as early as the 1800s. The Inn was first built as a private hunting and fishing lodge and throughout the years has grown from a small summer retreat to one of the finest resort inns on the coast of Maine. During the last ten years the Spruce Point Inn has undergone a $10 million renovation to update and enlarge its facilities. In 2005, the Inn purchased 42 wooded acres that adjoins the Resort. Future amenities are planned for this gorgeous, private, and secluded nature escape. The Inn is now comprised of 57 beautifully and naturally landscaped acres.

Excellent
The hotel room was of an adequate size and was really clean. The staff was incredibly helpful. We went to dinner and came back with a box of leftover Chinese food and two boxes of leftover cheesecake. The staff let us keep them overnight in their...

I disliked the shabby, poorly furnished room, the room amenities were insufficient, the mini refrigerator and the coffeemaker were deficient and the hotel restaurant was terrible. The location was beautiful.
I am not likely
to return to the Spruce Point Resort and Spa.
I might recommend it to friends.

Mediocre
To open the cottage door one was required to use a shoulder and considerable effort. Not long after, we discovered the door didn't lock. There was no electrical outlet in the bathroom, no fan. When I asked for a blow dryer I was told none was...

Spruce Point Inn was a welcome sight as we drove up. The resort was right on the ocean and faces west looking out onto the inner bay, Burnt Island Lighthouse, and a lot of boating activity.
We stayed in an Oceanview Deluxe room with 2 levels. Very large bathroom with jacuzzi and very large bedroom with separate sitting area and private porch.
We enjoyed the oceanfront salt water pool specifically. It was like a picture postcard. There were ample towels, teak furniture, and free kayaks from the Inn's dock.
The fitness room is well appointed. My wife had a massage and facial in the Spa and commented that the service was very friendly and relaxing.
We ate 1 night in the fine dining room. Candlelight with piano. Great food and atmosphere. One other night we chose the casual dining room which has a great bar, sitting area, and casual dress. The food was also really above average.
The hotel staff were very friendly and kept us well informed of all the activities in the area although we chose to stay by the pool most of the time.
There were free bikes but we did not use them.
The Spruce Point Inn is a luxury hotel but does not have a stuffy feel. We liked that we could step in the lobby in our swim suits or hotel robe and feel comfortable even though many others were dressed up.
We had a wonderful stay and will return to this hotel.
