48 year old man with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

This was the third year in a row that my wife and I stayed at the Spring Mill Inn. We stayed for 8 nights and loved every minute of it. My wife's birthday is the 13th of February, so we stay for her birthday and Valintine's day (there is always a special dinner on or around Valintine's day). Even better are the winter rates. Rooms are 2 for 1 Sunday through Thursday. The Inn was built out of native lime stone in the late 40's.

The main lobby is our favorite place. The great fireplace, rocking chairs, TV and comfortable seating make this area a great place to relax or have a conversations with other guests. For us the best time is after 11:00 pm. We sit around the fireplace and it feels like we have the whole Inn to ourselves. There is also a lower level which has an air hockey game, ping-pong table and other video and pinball games. Board games and tables to play them on are also available. The lower level also offers a great fireplace, comfortable seating and a large screen TV. Free coffee, tea and vending machines are also on this level. Just off of the lower level is the indoor/outdoor pool.

Located on the main level is the in house restaurant with buffet and fire place. The restaurant serves breakfast lunch and dinner. The food and service are wonderful.

The whole staff was very polite and friendly and made sure that we had everything that we needed.

The rooms are simple but were very comfortable. There is a dvd player in every room and basic cable service. Free WIFI is also available.

There are four wineries within 50 minutes of Spring Mill Inn and pleanty of antique shops close by.

This was a great trip and we will go back again.

The common areas of the hotel were beautifully decorated. The rooms seemed clean with the exception of the quilts. They appeared to have not been laundered in quite some time. The smell was a bit musty. The scenery was beautiful. My main complaint was the food. We went to breakfast in the dining room. They only offered a buffet. The food was extremely cold. We ended up leaving and going elsewhere for breakfast. The check-out lady didn't even apologize for the food and charged full price. The manager later reimbursed the full cost of the breakfast.

I was very disappointed by a few things during our stay.

Cons: Our room looked NOTHING like any of the rooms in the pictures and I am positive that we got the oldest room in the Inn. There were NO curtains and the bedspreads were very plain (a cream color) and not the quilts they talk about. The room had a very institutionalized feeling to it. Drab paint (cream colored as well), drab bedspreads, no curtains. The dining room doesn't have the best food. It is buffet only, which was a BIG disappointment, we didn't even eat dinner either nights and we had planned on it. After seeing the food and dessert choices, we into Bedford both nights to eat. certain parts of the hotel have a strange odor, especially the 1st floor. Maybe due to how old the place is?

They have an indoor pool, but don't bother bringing your suit. It is VERY tiny and the water was an odd color and it looked like it hadn't been clean since the pool was built!!

Pros: the staff is SUPER friendly and accommodating. The game room and lobby are beautiful and very homey. Loved the huge fireplaces. The breakfast buffet in the dining room had a great selection (but the food was bland)The price of breakfast was very reasonable. I was impressed with the size of the family/game room.

I have been to the Park many times, but am unsure if I will stay again @ the Inn, unless I can pick which room I stay in....LOL

Since it was built by the government and ran by them, the Inn has a bit of an Industrial/Institutionalize feel to it in certain areas. I did like the relaxed, homey feel in other areas and cant say enough about the Staff and employees.

I am somewhat likely to return to the Spring Mill Inn.
I might recommend it to friends.

61 year old man with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

The staff is wonderful. The rooms are old and beautifully restored, very clean. The lobby is well decorated, with a giant fireplace and very comfortable leather furniture. The food is acceptable to very good, depending on what is offered. It is remotely located and very quiet, just what we enjoy. I reserved four rooms this year for the family. I had a wonderful time.

This hotel made me feel comfortable: They had beautiful quilts on the bed. The new mattresses on the beds had memory foam which was very comfortable. When you enter the inn, you sense a warmness that is so refreshing when compared to the facilities of roadside motels. I liked the warmth of massive timbers in the lobby, the beautiful six inch real hardwood floors in the dining room and most of all and the recreational room below the lobby that will accommodate the interest of young and old alike. You can play checkers, or arcade games, try putting a puzzle together, go swimming in the heated pool, a card game or just watch some TV together. All the coffee you want is available. I like the comfortable rustic furniture. This is my primary gift to my children and grandchildren for Christmas each year.

I am very likely to return to the Spring Mill Inn.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.
