26 year old female with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
This past weeekend my family and I stayed at the Springhill Suites by Marriott @ EWR. From time to time we like to get away from the every day craziness and give us a sense of new scenerie. Plus the kids love utalizing the pool. Know keep in mind we are pretty regulars. For example, we no everyone by first name including the General Manager. For the most part we've never had issues with this hotel and if we had it wasn't that much of a big deal to make an issue of it. Well this past weekend was absolutely horrible. So I wrote out a comment card and ask my daughter to please bring it downstairs and give it to the F/D attendant there. Aside from giving her the note I ask my daughter to ask the attendant to give us 4 additional towels (because the cleaning lady never clean our room). Well my daughter came back but with no towels..I thought not a biggie the attendant was probably extremely busy she'll probably send some up when she has a moment. We never did receive the towels but I wasn't going to make it an issue. Anyway, on Monday, April 21 I sent a email to the General Manager of the hotel (a FYI, letter). Keep in mind the General Manager and I are somewhat friends or at least I thought we where. I was giving him a heads up and what I got was a email sent three days later canceling a future Event Date held at the hotel on May 25th. It wouldn't be such a big deal but I had sent invitations that had already been pre-printed with address, date and time for this event being held at this hotel. And although I tried to resolve this issue he has been reluctant to my understanding. Here's the kicker...The complaint was because the housekeeper did not clean our room as requested. He even went as far as to say that the housekeeper said my husband refused service when indeed was incorrect. Needless to say, we will not be patrons at that hotel any longer!

48 year old female with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure
Our family of 5 was visiting NYC. We drove so we needed parking, space for all of us and the complimentary breakfast was a plus. It was great for our purposes. We were given a key to an occupied room at first but that was quickly rectified. We drove to Newark Penn Station and took the PATH into the city. That worked nicely. Finding the hotel was a challenge. The roads around the airport are very confusing. Our room was clean and comfortable, breakfast was good, the staff were pleasant, we would definitely recommend and stay here again.

My family experienced a problem with redeeming our Marriott Rewards points and the charges that were incurred on our credit card. The staff was very slow in trying to resolve the problem and I had to take charge of the situation to get it resolved.
I am not likely
to return to the SpringHill Suites Newark Liberty International Airport.
I would not recommend it to friends.
