Sovereign Hotel Miami Beach

The hotel vacation package was advertised with free wireless internet access, which was not available. It has a prime location for tourists who want a quiet vacation and relatively calm beach scene. Most nightlife and restaurants are at least one mile south of the hotel.

I've stayed at over 100 hotels, traveling for both work and pleasure, and this was the worst one. When we checked in, there were no towels in the room. We asked and they were never brought, so we asked again, and they said they didn't have anymore towels. My sister sent champagne to us since we were celebrating our engagement and we never received. The bedspread had a hole in it.

The stay was complimentary from a previous visit but the toilet ran for the four days we were there even after telling them about it on four separate occasions.

This hotel made me feel welcome: The evening check-in was acceptable. They tried to explain where we could get some food but they didn't know English that well. The valet service was okay.

The pool was nice and open. We went unknowingly during Jewish Passover and the hotel really overbooked. It's a little too far to walk and too close for a taxi to most action, i.e., Lincoln Ave. The air conditioner kept blowing a fuse, but the washing machine and dryer were convenient. They have pleasant employees.
