35 year old male with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

Our first visit to South Seas Resort 06/18/06 (wifes birthday, Bayside Villas)

- arrived the place was still under major construction

- paid for a king bed got 2 queen beds

- restaurant was a major ripoff and the food was horrible

- room was warm at night, a/c really wasn't working well

- beds were rock hard and my wife and I could barely move the following morning.

- we both ended up sleeping in seperate beds due to the bed and a/c issues.

- the scenery is beautiful, water is clean and nice

Second Visit: 02/16/08 Valentines Special for wife, we thought we would give them a second chance.

- construction is complete and it looks beautiful

- staff is overly friendly but never bright

- fronk desk staff very nice but very slick

- got 2 queen beds again for the second time when I booked a king bed

- beds have not changed and they are rock hard.

- my wife and I had the worse night sleep

- a/c was weak

- again my wife and I will be sleeping in seperate beds due to a/c and bed issues. ( sucks!)

I do not recommend this place nor will my wife and I come back.

The resort had been recently repaired after hurricane Wilma and it was beautiful. The rooms, the marina and the restaurant were great. The location is a little hard to get to but it is worth it.

This hotel made me feel content: The gulf views and the quiet settings made me feel content.

I am very likely to return to the South Seas Island Resort.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

South Seas at Captiva...what can I say.

It is the most beautiful, serene place in ALL of Florida.

Having lived in FL for over two decades, and having been a social member for many, many years before Charlie (storm in 2004) I still enjoy going to the resort.

The aquamarine waters, white sand beaches and all the amenities in and nearby, make this resort tops in my book. I go to the resort for the experience, and am proud to say that it is worth every dollar spent. Having recently relocated to the Greater Washington DC area, my wife and I enjoy coming back, again and again and look forward to spending time there again for our upcoming 10th anniversary celebration!! The walk around the North end of the resort from Sunset Beach and back is ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL AND EVERYONE SHOULD APPRECIATE THIS SPECIAL PLACE ON THIS GREAT EARTH!!!

The location is great. It’s taking a long time to recover from the hurricane though, not all amenities were available during our stay

I am very likely to return to the South Seas Island Resort.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

This resort is highly overated . Bring your own food. There are 2 places to eat, Harbor Grill, there is no prices on the menu. The snack bar closes at 4PM. All food was terrible. The room was clean. Air conditiong did not work well first night. When I checked air filter it was over a month overdue for changing. This resort is really a bring your own food place. Also check all charges before booking these people are real slick. We stayed at the bayside villas. Their employees dont look like they make 3.oo dollars an hour. Asked one employee were starbucks was? He replied I don't know. When in fact it is directly across the street from entrance. The ice cream shop that sold me and my wife two pizza slices for $12.00 is called scoops it should be renamed "pirates of jamaca bay" we were sick for two days with diarea and vomiting. These employees are not qualified to serve food to people or for that matter dogs. The best part I loved about this stay was how I learned that we as americans have lost control of our country to rich corporations like this one .
