I was eaten at night in my room... Over a four night period I got at least two dozen bites - see some in photos. After the third night, I reported to front desk and was told they would take care of it and have hotel manager give me a call. Came back that evening and nothing appeared to have been done and no phone message. Called the front desk and they had no notes in the system regarding my compliant/issues. They insisted that housekeeping and security come to my room to inspect and take a report. When security arrived, I felt like I was a criminal. I had to fill out paperwork, they took my photo (mug shot), they took my driver's license to photograph, wanted to know who my employer was and all kinds of personal information. I was asked to show my bites to security - one of the officer's was male so I insisted that only the female officer be present. She acknowledged it did "appear to be bites" all over my legs and back. Housekeeping said they found nothing so it was left at that. The next day I woke up with more bites. That evening, I called down and asked for another room because I had two more nights and was tired of being bitten. They said they could move me across the hall to the 'construction side' of the building and at this point I didn't care. I asked if they would at least upgrade me to a suite for my trouble and was told that none were available - all booked. I said okay as long as it is non-smoking. When I called back down in about 20 minutes to say I was ready they said the room that was on hold for me was given to someone else. The only room they had available was a suite and I quote her, "it must have just become available, someone must have checked out early". - it was 10 PM. So of course, I said okay. When I got there, it was huge and beautiful but on every furniture surface there was an ashtray with a pack of matches and it smelled of smoke. At this point, I didn't care. The next two mornings I got no more bites. Hmm...wonder where I was getting bitten? The bites were horrible and got infected, lots of puss and itching like crazy. I went to two doctors, one while in Vegas and one when I got home. Both said, "bug bites". It is 4 weeks later and the last of the bites are still healing. I called the risk manager per the instructions from security guard. Left two messages and got no call back. Finally, I called and asked for hotel manager. Was transferred to Director of Operations. She was very apologetic (at the beginning of the call) that I had to follow-up and that no one had contacted me. She said, "I see that we upgraded you to a suite" as if it was an intentional action on their part to make it right for me. I explained to her the mess about them giving my other room away and that that was the only room available. At this point, her tone changed and I sensed she was agitated. She said she would adjust my room bill. I said that was great. And, here is kicker to my story for anyone who is still reading...she credited my bill $44.69 for a 6-night stay!! I am insulted that anyone would consider this an apologetic gesture versus a statement "that we are a big Vegas casino and so what you got eaten by bugs while staying at our hotel". That doesn't even cover my trip to the doctor and antibiotics. I don't feel that anywhere along the way in this ordeal the hotel staff was concerned about my well being and comfort and the $44.69 refund is my proof.
Aside from my bug bite experience, here is my general opinion of hotel. It is affordable and clean for the most part. The rooms are large and clean (newer hotels usually are). Sheets, towels and bedding are cheap and rough. The slots are extremely tight. It is very smoky in the casino, more than most of the larger ones. When there is a show, all you smell is manure outside the hotel - very strong. Bowling alley is great fun. Spa is top of the line, fabulous - this is the best part of the hotel by far!! Don Vito's and Mexican is good food. Buffet is horrible. If you are on a tight budget and don't mind a few bug bites, this is an okay choice. However, I would suggest you choose otherwise.
