Okay
Sole Resort is a reasonably priced escape on the water. Very relaxing, beach decor in rooms. Heated pool on premises as well as a restaurant & bar. Great food & dining. Within walking distance to private beaches. I would highly recommend this place.
Wanted: A clean hotel, room and bathroom

Mediocre
My girlfriend and I were looking for a decent hotel in Montauk for Labor Day weekend that had a clean room and bathroom. I believed the newly renovated Sole East was the answer at $400+ a night. Instead I was greeted by the usual wanna-be trendy...
My wife and I just stayed here. We paid 310 per night plus tax on the weekend. The room was terribly small, no storage space, and the bathroom was a joke. 2 out of the 5 shower handles fell off, there was rusty pipe exposed, bubbling paint, and...

Horrible
My husband and I looked forward to staying here, especially after visiting the website. We expected to spend the entire weekend at the hotel, with no reason to leave. Why would we - with the Backyard restaurant, pool, outdoor lounging beds, and...
The service was so incredible all around. We ate several times at the restaurant and had wonderful service by the wait staff. A very child friebdly and large party friendly place. Also one of the only dog friendly places in town. Our room was good,...
My review will be short, because thankfully I asked to look at the room before we payed...just ridiculously priced for the accommodations...not even a place to put your suitcase on! Totally unimpressed with the "lobby" as well as the...
We overhead other departing guests saying, "...let's get out of this place", echoing our sentiments. There was no chest of drawers in the room, depressingly tiny, we booked (where do we put our stuff?). We were given another larger room (with a...
While this hotel is still a work in progress, our experience during a recent 3-day stay was quite positive. We stayed at the hotel in its first incarnation (Shepherd's Neck) and this version is a definite improvement. The decor lends a...
The location is perfect but the owners and managers of this renovated hotel, now touted as "boutique," have a lot to learn about how to run a place that people will want to come back to. For now, stay away until they learn what they're...
