Solara Surfside Resort

WE WERE GIVEN TIME SHARE FOR A WEDDING GIFT AND WE WERE IMPRESSED WITH THE HOTEL WE CHOSE. WE STAYED AT THE SOLARA SURF SIDE FOR FOUR NIGHTS AND ALL OF THEM WERE WONDERFUL! THE ROOM(s) WERE COLORFUL AND OUR BALCONY VIEW WAS NICE OF THE OCEAN. THE PROPERTY IS VERY WELL MAINTAINED WITH 3-4 BARBECUE STATIONS, HAMMOCKS, AND VOLLEYBALL. THE POOL WAS BIG AND ALWAYS WELL MAINTAINED EARLY IN THE MORNING. THE DOWN SIDE(IF ANY) IS THERE ARE NO RESTAURANTS CLOSE. BUT WE IMPROVISED AND TALKED TO THE LOCALS AND TOOK THE METRO BUS, WHICH A STOP IS RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE HOTEL(VERY CONVIENANT) AND TAKES YOU ANYWHERE FOR $1.50EA. WE SPENT OUR TIME ON SOUTH BEACH OR THE MALL. ALOT CHEAPER THAN A TAXI. WE DID HAVE TO SPEND $43 FROM THERE TO THE AIRPORT THE DAY WE LEFT, SINCE WE DIDN'T RENT A CAR. OVERALL, I WOULD LOVE TO VISIT AGAIN MAYBE FOR A 5 YR. ANNIVERSARY. NOW THAT WE KNOW THE "ROPES" WE WOULD HIT THE "PUBLIX" SUPERMARKET (8BLKS) AND USE THE KITCHENETTE MORE AND SAVE MORE $$.- CHRISTI,OHIO. P.S WE LOVED THE HOT TUB!!

This place was awesome. It was a huge room and the concierge and the valet were excellent. The only thing we had a problem with was there weren't many restaurants around.

This hotel made me feel secure: There were police patrolling the beach and in order to get in to the hotel you had to have a key or enter the front door and there was someone always at the front desk.
