Snowbird Mountain Lodge Inn - Page 1

We traveled to Snowbird in November & had a fabulous time. The staff, setting, food & wine selection were perfect. This is an inn that has grown from a lodge built in the 1940's w/ a beautiful view of the mountains. The trout & chicken entrees were my favorite. The service was friendly & unpretentious, just like the natural and beautiful surroundings. It was obvious all food is prepared to order & not "pre cooked." Robert & Karen, the Innkeepers, have done a wonderful job updating the facilities, while keeping true to the original & rustic charm of the lodge. It would be hard for me to understand how anyone could spend time at this special place & not feel totally relaxed. If you can't enjoy this piece of heaven on earth, stay home & leave the beauty, peace, fine food and spiritual rejuvenation to those of us who flee to this place to escape people like you! Really

Visited Snowbird for honeymoon. Great views, nice rooms, mediocre food and poor service. The overall experience wasn't bad its just that at almost $400 a night the views and location couldn't make up for the mediocre food that is marketed as fine dinning and the service which was lets say not customer focused. On the first night of our stay the entree didn't appear until 40 minutes after the soup and salad. When I complained the owner replied "well we are short staffed and there isn't anything I can do now". Not the reply I expected from a 'fine dinning establishment'. I was also disappointed that although I specifically made my reservations as a vegetarian, the menu offered only the same one vegetarian option for three nights in a row. I was offered the ability to make an entree from the sides of any of the other meals. Again, not what I expect from a 'fine dinning establishment'. On the final day there where five items on the breakfast menu. Two of them were meat dishes (a ham quiche and bacon) they were out of the third (hash browns) which left me a biscuit and army issue oatmeal. Overall, quite disappointing.

The hotel had awesome views, a friendly and capable staff, fantastic food and great accommodations. There were lots of mountain hiking and fishing options within a few miles.

This hotel made me feel pampered: The all inclusive pricing, the porches, the hot tubs, the library on-site, hiking trails, the fantastic restaurant, all made me feel pampered.
