First off, the air conditioner thermostat was broken and it was exceedingly hot in our room.
The toilet had to be manually flushed. The lid removed and the insides fiddled with to get the tank to fill with water. The bathroom door was a sliding door that, if opened too widely, was next to impossible to close. The door had no real lock and the lock it had was inoperable. We had teen girls in our room constantly so as a dad I was forced to leave the room to use the restroom.
The elevator was cramped and hot.
The pool was over-chlorinated.
The staff was annoying and rude. No alcohol was allowed in common areas, so parents were not allowed to congregate. it became such an issue that one of the hotel staff, a little blonde-haired "man", became so obsessed with whether anyone from our party was drinking that he was seen "spying" at our cups as we walked through the lobby or outside. He should have focused his time on repairing hotel problems instead of seeing if someone was drinking a beer, God forbid.
All-in-all, in the future, if I had the choice of staying at the Sleep Inn of Edmond or of sleeping on a park bench... I'd select the park bench hands down.
i travel all the time for business and the sleep inn was very accomodating. the staff was very helpful with finding a good place for me to eat and take clients and the room was one of the cleanest i have ever stayed in. i usually pack my own little package of clorox wipes but after my first night, i just threw them in my trunk because i knew i wouldn't need them. the breakfast could use another hot item, but that's my only real complaint. overall, a great place to stay.
