It looks great on the outside. but once you are in your smelly moldy room, don't look up. You may find black mold growing there, as well as the air cond/heater unit which recircles that same moldy air back to you. I am on dial-up right now because the wireless is not working. The bathroom lacked a door. Oh, and don't go for the snack machine, or it will give you animal cookies and it turns out they have transfats in them!

While booking hotels for this trip I accidentally booked this hotel for 2 rooms the same night. My husband called after the cancellation cut-off time and they cancelled without penalty.
My son & I arrived late on Friday and the check-in...

If you want to visit New Orleans but don't want to stay there with the kids, stay at this motel which is about 20 miles from French Quarters. It is family style, clean and new. Across the way, there is a Waffle House and a nice new gas station. The setting is country yet touristy. The motel includes a nice continental breakfast and a clean pool. I strongly suggest it for families.

This is a very nice hotel. I've stayed in 3 of the others in Slidell since the storm, and Sleep Inn is Updated, Clean, SAFE, and Comfortable. With fairly good price. I have stayed several times.

We were so pleased with the hotel that we have recommended it to friends. We stayed in the hotel while I was moving to a new area. When we arrived, we made a point of finding out whether they had a facility near us.
The hotel was very new, and I was pleasantly surprised at how well appointed it was for the price we paid.

The desk clerk was uninformed about what to do in the event of a tornado, and it happened that on that day we had a tornado. In our original room, the shower door was broken. Also, our door lock failed, leaving us locked inside the room.
