First off, as soon as you walked into the lobby there was a horrible smell. The smell was all throughout the hotel, even in the rooms. The girl that was supposed to be working the desk was there one time out of the five times I went to the desk. She was either smoking outside or on her cell phone.
When we received our room, the queen bed that we thought we were getting was a double and our room had no smoke detector. When I asked the girl at the desk about our bed, she said ''Believe it or not, that is a queen bed''. After I mentioned that our room had no smoke detector, she said 'Oh please don't tell anybody that. We could get in a lot of trouble'. She then moved us to another room on the second floor.
When we checked in, the air conditioner in our room was turned off and it was hot. In the hallway, we found a dead dried up frog with a dead bug attached to it. This room smelled just as bad and half the lights in our room were blown out.
The wall had holes in it where the towel rack had obviously been moved numerous times after falling off. The side table also fell off the wall and when it did, we noticed that it had also been reattached after falling off before.
Overall, we had a horrible stay and we were very disappointed with everything about the hotel. Our stay at the Sarasota Sleep Inn was terrible and we will never stay here again when we visit Sarasota in the future, nor will we ever recommend it to anyone.
