Poor
Hotel Review - Posted Jun 18, 07
27 year old man with a economy budget, traveling for leisure

It was one of the less expensive hotels in the city. It was not as grand as expected for a New York City hotel. It was located in the Hell's Kitchen, although it felt pretty secure walking the streets at night. It was in comfortable distance to the theater and garment districts and easy to arrive by car. The room felt small.

I am not likely to return to the Skyline Hotel.
I would not recommend it to friends.

if you want to be kept awake by screaming teenagers till the early hours of the morning at the weekend. Like wise school children running in the corridors without adult supervision this is the place for you!

The hotel smelled of grease and had penetrated into the lift and carpets.

The smell was so bad we could not face eating in the hotel restaurant.

My daughters tried to phone the hotel 12 times in one night on urgent family business, even using international enquiries to connect the call. The front of house staff never answered the phone. The following day e-mails were sent to the hotel, the staff never informed us of this.

The domestic staff and bell boys were great. That is the only good thing I can say about this hotel.

member icon Rude staff and terrible views

I usually stay at a Hilton or a Marriott. But someone else made the reservations. What a mistake that was. The staff was very rude; I had a terrible experience in the hotel restaurant. I walked through the hall and saw a bathroom plunger next to the coke machine. In our room, the bathroom sink had a slow drain, and the view from the window was less that enjoyable. Next time, if I ever go back to the city of New York the Skyline Hotel will not be on my list of places to stay. Do yourself a favor and don't go there.

54 year old man with a moderate budget, traveling for business

There was no ice available on any of the floors and it was needed for the hot weather. The elevators were very slow and old. The workers at the gift shop were very friendly. The waiters wanted to clear tables before we had finished eating.

I am very likely to return to the Skyline Hotel.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

The Skyline was a clean, nicely maintained hotel. Our view from the front of the hotel was great. There is a great New York Deli across the street that we ate at often. It is a descent walk to Time Square. Absolutely beautiful tile in the bathroom, and I sell tile. We got everything we needed without spending a fortune. We will stay there again.

I am very likely to return to the Skyline Hotel.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.
