The Hotel Skandia has been simply renovated to offer great budget accommodation. It provides a well located option for guests looking to explore the city as well as the beautiful North Zealand region that once inspired Shakespeare and the writing of his Hamlet play. (04/06 LC) It is a four storey restored red brick building. The building is typical of Danish town centres from the turn of the 20th Century, however, being located on a corner allows this building to enjoy more unique features such as the entrance overlooking the station. The hotel is ideally located in the centre of town near to the main predestrainised shopping streets and within walking distance of the train station where regular trains to Copenhagen depart and the ferry terminals to Helsingborg in Sweden. Kronborg castle is reachable on foot in less than 20 minutes, while the internationally famous modern art museum ?Louisiana? is only a 20 minute bus ride away.
