45 year old woman with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure
I selected Silver Legacy and prepaid the trip on Travelocity, based on their lowest cost for the quality; however, when I arrived, I was given another $3/day "resort" fee to cover "local calls" and free local parking, which anyone gets.
I didn't make calls or have a car, but was still charged. I also learned that the advertised health club is $8 to use and the wi-fi is $10 a day. I had paid for non-smoking, but got smoking, stinking room. Room service is never cleared, so the halls are filthy. If you're not gambling $1,000's, expect to pay more for everything. Gamblers get posted discounts, while I paid extra for everything to subsidize this.
My complaints to the front desk manager were met with no concession, other than offer to move to a non-smoking room (I would have had to repack). No amenities at all, not even coffee in your room. It makes me angry when hotels play bait and switch.
