My recent stay (August 2009) at Atlantic City's Showboat Hotel & Casino was the worst hotel experience I have ever encountered. My roommate and I were locked in our rooms from the inside due to a mal-functioning bolt lock which is a huge fire and safety code violation. Even the Locksmith and Security Supervisor accidently locked themselves in our room while testing it again. This was a very unnerving way of starting my vacation. They showed no guest safety concern and did not acknowledge a problem....I had to work very hard to get my room changed and had a very difficult interaction with the front desk supervisor Maryann. Needless to say, my experience did not improve from there. The room that I was eventually changed to was a different floor but in worse condition than the one before. Absolutely no water pressure at the shower, poor ventilation (smoke) in the casino. I attempted to give Showboat another attempt to make this right by speaking with another front desk supervisor (Rose) who was very supportive, but was given the impression that she had no authority to make this better for me and my guest. She provided me with the name and contact numbers of the hotel manager and hotel director. I left a detailed voicemail message for the director, Mr. J. Welch right after speaking with Rose, but I have yet to hear back or receive an apology for a terrible experience, poor customer service, and acknowledging guest safety concerns. The thought of having to leave my room during a fire or emergency in the middle of the night and not being able to gives me chills. I would hate that another paying customer goes through even half the poor experience I had. Unhappy guest - Coral Springs, FL

i've read some of the other reviews and people being unreasonable about losing their room. it clearly states if you don't arrive by 8pm, your room may be given away... you should probably learn to read first. our room was great, very clean, very...

Horrible
Just don't stay here. I warned you!! The staff is very rude. I was removed from the bar area at 8:30 am just for having a coffee and reading the paper. The bar tender told me I would have to leave unless I purchased a drink. At 8:30 A.M.?? ...

I love Showboat.. I always win at this casino.I get great room service . My host is the best guy in the world.Great Comps...total rewards is great too. I visit Las Vegas, Lake Tahoe casinos, New Orleans and other Atlantic Casinos but my luck is in Showboat...sometimes I get annoyed at people hovering over but there is always someone to take care of that. I play big and win big and showboat is the place to go.

Stayed there 07/22-07/24-08. Room was clean and nice.Pillows were about half the size they should be. No extra covers. About one am in the morning the alarm clock in the next room went off. Called front desk to tell them about it and about 20 minutes later ending up calling housekeeping and about 10 minutes later they came and turned it off. What a fisaco. Waited about 45minutes for the bus shuttle and still ended up taking a taxi over to the other casinos. Kinda far from Ceasears and Balleys.Dont think I would stay there unless no other options. i love the showboat. it has great poker tournament that run every day with buy ins that range from 50 to 125 dollars with lots of chips to start 10,000 to 15,000 which provides a lot of play for your money. i plaed a tournament at the taj starting chips was 2000 and blinds went up so fast i was out in a half hour. also they have nice slots and the blackjack tables start as low as $5 a hand. most casinos in ac start at 25 a game. showboat offers the casual player a fun time without having to break the bank. also with the rewards card u get $20 cash back if u take the bus. visit here it is well worth it!!

Worst experience ever! I visited for a friends birthday. 5 of us stayed and we were all extremely upset with the cleanliness of the room, the staff was extremely rude and unhelpful. We spent a half an hour at the roulette table and no one came over to us for drinks. We asked 3 different cocktail waitresses for drinks to which all 3 replied "not my section". We went to the buffet which was dirty, expensive and the food was not good. I let the managers know we were leaving because of these things and they were completely unconcerned. I have been to many different casinos many times before and never experienced anything of the sort. Do yourself a favor. Anywhere else!!
