Trust me, I'm not a picky traveler. I've been to dozens of motels/hotels reserved and just dropped by whenever needed and I give this place 4 out of 10.
The room is rather small (I booked a room with two double beds but it was two twin beds) but it has a small refrigerator and a microwave & a coffee machine alright. If you are looking for the close distance to the convention center and public transportation it could have been even 10.
But here is the thing. It's basically a 'motel' no matter what they put fancy name on it. You need what they promise to provide to have a nice travel, right? Management is so sloppy. First day I was told to move my car because it was the manager's parking place. Notice. It was not maintenance but manager's. What? Guest has lower priority than manager?
What it claims by 'continental breakfast' is consisted of store bought low grade muffins and at 7:30 am orange juice either already ran out or plain not filled that day. I asked the guy at the counter and all he said was "It depends" and I wonder depends on what? You'll see.
While I have my breakfast I've seen many guys waiting pretty long time to check out in the morning everyday and my last day I had to ring a bell to call/wake up the same guy at the counter at almost 7 am.(by the look of his wrinkly T-shirt he could have been dozing or something inside) Um.. breakfast is supposed to start at 7:00am and how am I gonna get my coffee before I hit the road?
Ah-ha! So It all depends on how manager feels like! I got it. I just can't believe it.
If Shilo keeps its business they need to take care of management more closely.
