Okay
The room was very small. From what I've read online (while in the room) many of the rooms in the old part of the hotel are small. The side to stay on is in the Cristobal Tower.
The food was expensive for what you get. I understand...

Horrible

62 year old female with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
I spent 2 days here at the beginning of a cruise.
The room was clean, comfortable, nicely furnished and had a lovely view of some hills. The grounds were lovely as well. Service was good.
The only difficult part was trying to walk anywhere. It was doable--but one has to get across a major highway. My stay was just over a year ago and the highway was at the end of the construction phase so perphaps that drawback has been eliminated.
We enjoyed the hotel with excellent aminities. The poolside gardens for lounging are especially stunning with view of the mountain and the trams ferrying.
The food quality was exceptionally bad. Not many choices for vegetarians as well....
