I was there for my honeymoon. The top floor of the hotel has nice view of the wasatch mountain range. The suite on the top floor has a room for free amenities such as water, chips, pop, candy, magazines and newspaper, they also give free breakfast and free lunch at times. I do not know what is the service on the other floors or economy sized rooms. They have macdonalds and denny's near by. We walked to the downtown restaurants from the hotel. The downtown has good transportation the rail sytem is easy. There is good ethnic restaurants in the downtown area where we went.
The hotel is extravagant on the inside. It has a huge lobby with fireplace, expensive furniture, huge hall ways. The service that I got was fair from the ladies in the front desk. The free shuttle was nice to the airport. The only thing we did not like was the charging for internet service which I think should have been free. The price is higher than it should have been too. Other things are good.

The air conditioning unit was not powerful enough in the Utah heat to make the room always comfortable, even after maintenance made adjustments. The bed had heavy comforters such that to be cool one had to sleep without any covers at all. The room was very small and the room next door was quite spacious and it was at the same price. There was no hot water one day while trying to get dressed in the morning for the meeting we were attending. The food in the restaurant was very good but there was only one server trying to wait on all the tables. They had no books or magazines in the gift shop. They charged for the use of internet when most nice hotels are offering free wireless internet service.
I am somewhat likely
to return to the Sheraton Salt Lake City Hotel.
I would not recommend it to friends.

Stayed during July as part of a large conference in Salt Lake City. The front desk staff appeared disinterested & were largely uninformative. Not useful to a visitor to the town. Concierge gave poor directions to the nearest shopping which ended up in an eight block walk when the TRAX was only minutes away! Front of House manager was rude & unwilling to assist in solving problems with our booking (we paid for Club level with breakfast & had confirmation of same). FOH manager wanted to argue the point. Room service had to be called just about every day to service the room. Overall a very poor example of the Sheraton brand.

The hotel looks less upscale than the average Sheraton hotel from the outside, but the inside of the hotel was beautiful, full of marble and cherry wood.
I am very likely
to return to the Sheraton Salt Lake City Hotel.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

Our stay was not really a pleasant one. Our room was a disaster. The curtains were falling out of the ceiling. Several of the light fixtures were broken. The floors were very dirty and there was a weird smell in the room. They also charge for using the internet service. We figured staying at a higher end hotel these things would not be an issue. We were very disappointed and we will not be staying with Sheraton hotel again.

The verbiage used by the lady at the check in counter was very formal. I am young and she addressed me as Sir. Needless to say, that does not happen very often.
