male with a moderate budget, traveling for business
Bottom line - I will never again stay at a Sheraton or do business of any kind with the Sheraton National Hotel. For business travelers coming here to visit I will certainly recommend the Hilton rather than the Sheraton - despite it being closer. I also will make sure that when I plan my next luncheon or farewell event - I will look to Pentagon Row where I know we will get great service.
I was involved in a Hit and Run - the hotel shuttle van hit my BMW when I was parked in the hotel parking - when I got to my car at the end of the day and saw what had happened I called security - they were great and came out and took pictures. Police cam and looked around - since there was nothing in the area it was classified as a hit and run. Two days later I discover a hotel shuttle van with damage to its bumper and paint that matches the color of my car. I notified the GM - who dismissed me with no consideration asserting that unless someone personally witnessed the incident - I would not be able to "prove" that it was the shuttle that hit me. However, when I pulled my car next to the van - the damage to the van matched identically to the damage on my car - yet the GM would not even listen to me. trying to reach him was a challenge as he did not even return my calls - he never even express concern that this event happened. He simply could care less.
I have also initiated contact with the BBB, local Chamber of Commerce, Angies List, Consumers' Checkbook, Expedia.com, Consumer reports, TripAdvisor.com, Hotels.com, Orbitz.com, Travel.Yahoo.com, Travelocity, TravelPost.com, Fodor's and VitualTourist.com.
Finally, I have also filed an incident report and spoken to the Arlington Police Department (Detective Guenther) to look into this matter for me. Feel free to contact me if you want specifics or feel free to contact the GM - Peter Austin - or Cyril at hotel security for details.
male with an economy budget, traveling for leisure
pros - nice spacious rooms with comfy beds and sheets, beautiful hotel interior with its own restaurant, bar, great amenities with pool and fitness center. complimentary shuttle to and from hotel to pentagon city which is access to metro and shopping mall.
cons - weird non-enclosed shower stall. water flows from shower into drainage but ends up soaking whole bathroom floor regardless. only thing that was a downer. i hate wet floors!
