Sheraton Ferncroft Resort

The Front Desk staff was outstanding. Dan at the Desk was very understanding of our needs and took responsibility for us having a great stay. The waterpark staff was great as well, including Erin who was very knowlegable. The hot tub was closed but I made good use of the full bar at the park.

The Hotel is also newly renovated and is quite beautiful. My kids enjoyed the Indoor Water park immensely and the room was beautiful with new 36" Plasma Screen Television Sets.

The indoor pool and fitness center are being remodeled and a new spa being installed, but the amenities are still open and functional.

The only drawback was that our room was not ready by the check in time of 4pm, but our children were having so much fun in the park that we didn't mind.

It was a lovely hotel. Much better then then Days Inn I stayed in last summer when Phyllis had her hip replaced. AND this hotel was able to accommodate her handicap.

The only downside was the large convention going on. Too many people in the lobby. I was all turned around.

The front desk staff was helpful and informative. The lovely young man at the desk gave me a coupon for a free breakfast. Thanks!

I'd go back just for him.

We stayed at the hotel following an event there, and while some previous posters on this site like the one before me (who stayed THREE times and was miserable! Who would return after the first time unless they just ENJOY complaining??) had complaints, our room was fine and everyone was pleasant.

I have found through traveling (and life) that if you are pleasant, you will get that in return.

5/5-5/9 1st room: 707 toilet running

2nd room: 719 next to elevator

3rd room: 213 toilet running

4th room: 204 bathtub slow drain, paint peeling off ceiling, missing lightbulbs, substitute Maxwell House for Starbucks coffee.

5/12-5/16 1st room: 215 Road noise and parking lot noise

2nd room: 737 Smoke odor (all rooms supposedly non-smoking)

3rd room: 119 Barking dogs next door in 120

4th room: 108 running toilet, missing furniture, tour bus outside window 10 feet from where you sleep with idling diesel engine, loud japanese tourists, luggage slinging into bus, loud conversation, all at 5:45AM!

5/19-5/23 1st room: 204 Bathtub still clogged, but dose of Draino cleaner does the trick. Paint still peeling off ceiling. Carpet not vacuumed. Still substituting Maxwell House for Starbucks coffee! All is well till...

Tuesday evening 9:30PM, car alarm going off for an hour, front desk says 911 was called with tow truck on the way, not to worry! 10:30 PM front desk says no, no tow truck was called, we contacted the car owner in a bar drinking downtown in Boston, he should be back in a few hours...relocated away from the noise to:

2nd room: 657 Bathtub has been replaced by a jacuzzi, fancy granite, looks like the installation was suddenly interrupted because of the rough finish surrounding the tub, not quite fully tiled yet. It gets better...4:45AM Wednesday morning, noise from the loading dock! Maria "you are the only person who complains about noise!" we get deliveries all hours of the day and night. Yeah, that's rich, I'm the only one who...

Well, I am up, time to take a shower...the tub turns on all right, but when the diverter valve is switched, NOTHING HAPPENS! This room does not have a working shower, and I'm probably the only person who has EVVVer complained about it, too! Even maintenance/security can't get it to work! Switch back to room 204, ahhh, home again, with no car alarm noise! I can take a nice hot shower once the hot water comes up in about 3 minutes of running the faucet at full blast.

THIS PLACE IS FOR THE MOST PART NOT HABITABLE. STAY AWAY. Oh, the staff are very friendly and cooperative, if you like that deer-in-the-headlights look in the eyes. Don't interrupt the children's Miss-Mary-Mack-Mack-Mack game at the front desk. Ask Maria for a piece of chocolate. The most professional is Mariah. How she can tolerate the other dolts is beyond me. Oh, the gymnasium is for nauseum. The bicep Nautilus machine is broken for at least three weeks. Last week they ran out of paper towels in the dispenser to wipe down the equipment (avoids MRSA) and have not filled it up yet. The attendant is very friendly but should get up off of his ass and clean the dust off the machines. Oh, sorry, maybe that's not in his job description. Excuse me.

This water park is unsafe for your children and family. The state health department shut down the waterpark for over a week. The staff insisted that everything is okay and safe. Then why were you fined twice? The staff including the General Manager are rude and difficult to work with. When there is a problem they just check to see if you have a credit card on file, so they can charge you too much. When you ask for the Director of the Water park, the front desk tells me she quit. The guards do not watch the water and my own child had to save another child from drowning. The management staff is young and they don't care. One guy told me he was from Kansas City and that he didn't care. If you love your children---stay away!!!!
