43 year old with a luxury budget, traveling for business
My colleague and I just returned from business in Phoenix. We picked the Sheraton Crescent because of location and the "club" level which provided snacks and attracted our needs. We specifically asked for a room away from the elevator and vending machines for we had just traveled the country on business and sound sleep was a priority. Sheraton did comply with initial requests.
We were awakened in the middle of the night by a bachelor party in the suite next door. We called the front desk and they said they would send up security. It quieted down for about 15 minutes until the stripper came. We called front desk again. They did nothing. We had to listen all night long to profanities, slamming against our wall, and disturbing noise.
The evening snacks were nothing but dried out pizza bagels from Costco and cheese and saltines. Breakfasts were decent continental. The next evening my friend and I battled cockroaches coming out of the drain when we showered and washed in the sink. We killed three with our shoes and one escaped into bedroom. Beware of room #849. We complained to front desk after the first restless night.
They assured us that they would compensate us in someway, either full comp. or a big discount. We were only comp'd for the party night, not the cockroaches. Also, the hotel is too close to freeway noise. Its pretty, otherwise.
