22 year old with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
My SO and myself stayed at the Settle Inn in Grand Forks, ND for a weekend in July, 2007.
We stayed in the "Ceaser" theme suite, complete with "canopy" bed and in-suite jacuzzi. The price was $89.99 per night.
The hotel looks to be nice enough from the outside, in a border city where hotels are on every corner, there are great, and there are gruesome rooms to be found in Grand Forks. The Settle Inn settles somewhere in the middle.
The hotel is old. And the rooms show the age. There are some areas of peeling paint, worn carpet, and even a couple holes in the walls. The Jacuzzi in the room also appears to be circa 1980, with it's top layer of finish starting to come up in some places.
The Bed was alright, but the couch and chair in the "living room" area seemed oddly musty, and were the type of furniture that is just basically pillows over plywood.
Overall, not a terrible hotel, but also not great. Stay here if you're looking for a cheap private jacuzzi in Grand Forks like we were.
