Serrano Hotel

Found a pair of dirty undies in the closet. The front desk staff told me there was nothing they could do because the hotel was sold out for the night. I demanded some sort of compensation and they basically called me a liar and told me that they were doing nothing of the sort.

Appreciated the decor and the staff worked to make me feel welcome. My room was smallish but right for a "boutique" hotel in S.F. It was clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. The coffee service warmed us on a cool damp morning. Enjoyed walking to Union Square and the cable cars, good location. Would definitely stay here again.

The Serrano hotel is fabulous. We stayed in the most awesome suite that was huge for San Francisco standards. The bathroom had to be seen to be believed - there was a steam room in the shower, a TV set in the shower - incredible. We could have spent the whole time in the bathroom, it was that nice. And the room was really nicely decorated too, with a big king size bed and separate sitting area. We had a party at the Ponzu restaurant bar which is connected to the hotel - it is fabulous Asian-fusion food and the staff are the nicest people we have ever met - you have to eat there.

The concierge service is extremely helpful. They will do anything from reserving a town car to personal shopping -- all for a minimal cost.

I wasn't happy that there was some error with my hotel room when I arrived. However, the clerk did rectify the situation and provided more than satisfactory rooms for us. All in all, the stay was charming.

This hotel made me feel extravagent: The rooms had nice attention to detail - vibrant colors and tasteful furnishings. The toiletries were a plus. I didn't attend the evening reception, but I'm sure it would've been pleasant.
