Just got back from Hotel Rude. This is one of the worst places I have ever stayed in.

Dirty room, rude front desk, construction noise to the point that you could not carry on a conversation in the room. The jack hammer was so loud at 8:00 am.

Everyone has to use the back service elevator, and I mean everyone, hotel staff as well as guests, and only one elevator was working. Dead cockroaches in the hallway, probably died waiting for the elevator or someone at the front desk to acknowledge them.

Terrific security, my husband and I could not get our key to work, so one of the construction workers offered to try his, and guess what, it worked. No safe in the rooms either, had to take all our valuables with us every time we left the room.

There is no reason this place should be open during construction, and no reason to keep that front desk staff employed.

Had my high school reunion there last weekend

I think I paid full price for staying at a full blown construction site.

Construction noise until 8pm

Had scaffolds against my window and open drywall next to my door. Pool and many other areas are closed off

Not sure how they got permission to keep the place open while it is under rennovation.

Need to bring a hardhat if you plan on staying here in the near future!

Try somewhere else. The only thing this place has going for it is the location. We had breakfast at the Plaintains restaurant on our first morning and the place was still dirty from the evening before with dirty ashtrays and beer bottles on the patio. Without going into too much detail that was the last time we ate there. They did not change our sheets for 4 days and then only because we asked them twice to do it. I had come in from the beach and wiped off my face with a hand towel which left some dirt on the cloth. The towel was left on the bathroom floor with the rest of the dirty towels but the housekeeper folded it and put it back on the counter. On one occassion our room got no housekeeping service. You had to be a contortionist to get the only ice machine to work which was several floors above us. It was quicker to take the stairs since the elevator was slow and didn't sound very safe. One morning at the pool I went to use the ladies room and the toilet was clogged and digusting and someone had used the small trash can to relieve themselves in. The day before we left they locked us out of our room assuming we had checked out. When we asked for a later check out time on our last day they said they would have to charge us for a half day. I expressed my less than stellar stay and she gave us an extra hour. The place was filthy and is in dire need of new management. I previously worked at a four diamond hotel in the North Tahoe California area so I know what it takes to run hotel and they don't even have the basics down. They ask you to fill out a comment card and mail it back when you check out but nothing ever comes of it. Stay somewhere else.

I am not likely to return to the Sea Turtle Inn.
I would not recommend it to friends.

member icon Worst customer service ever

This hotel had the worst customer service I have ever seen. After waiting 15 minutes, we were told by Clerk Number 1 that they had to clean a room for us and it would be five minutes. After a couple of minutes, another couple walks up upset about that fact that they have been booked into a room that is already occupied. 20 minutes after they have been told that they will have to stay elsewhere by Clerk Number 2 (Number 1 has disappeared), they magically found a room by Clerk Number 3. Clerk number 2 calls us up and acts like we just walked in, not like we have been standing there for 40 minutes and tells us that we are being walked to a hotel 5 minutes away since they are now full.

Our room that was being cleaned seems to have disappeared. The main problem is that the hotel they wanted to send us to is more like 15-20 minutes away and only about 10 minutes from our home. They did not seem to think that sending us 15-20 minutes away and then making us come 15-20 minutes back for our second night was really an inconvenience at all.

They have rude clerks, an unorganized front desk staff and giving our room to a couple in front of us and then lying about it makes this the worst customer service hotel I have ever seen. For $200 a night, I expect better trained, polite people working customer service. Do not stay here unless nothing else is available.

I am not likely to return to the Sea Turtle Inn.

It was a very nice place to stay with a great view of the ocean. It was very close to a number of places to dine. I would suggest it to other tourists. The pool was nice but it did not have a recreation room. The hotel restaurant was great.

I am very likely to return to the Sea Turtle Inn.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.
