Excellent
We had a short weekend getaway and had a blast with the kids. The room was clean and nice. The staff pointed us in the right direction for everything, we will be returning in the summer.
38 year old male with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
My family and I stayed here for nine consecutive years, 1998-2006. We have, sadly, watched this go from a premier resort, to what seems little more than a gathering spot for the dregs of society, and our experiences here in August 2006 made us finally decide to take our memories elsewhere, for good.
I could write a book, but will try to stick with simply hitting the high spots:
"Family Resort" is their claim. That is laughable! Their security seems non-existent. Not only is there no enforcement of their own parking rules, but even when guests call the front desk with noise complaints, there are, apparently, either too few security personnel there, or those on-duty simply do not care. There are unsupervised children of all ages, everywhere, at all hours, along with loud noise and parties all night. Don't expect to get much recuperation from your daily activities at night! Slamming of adjacent doors on your floor, knocks on your own door, and yelling/running in the hallways at all hours of the night seem to be the norm.
They have three elevators that are constantly dirty (sometimes even with vomit) and are beyond slow for a 15-story resort. Stairwells, your only other option, are even worse in terms of cleanliness. We once witnessed human excrement in a stairwell that took far too long to be cleaned up! Expect to have poor to non-existent maid-service and room-cleaning. We have had numerous days with no service, at all!
Also, you may as well expect problems with TV's/remotes, leaky refrigerators and A/C units, and other maintenance issues which get little attention, if our stays here offer any indication.
Finally, there are major issues with available parking for check-in, and a very slow check-in process. They need to hire more staff, along with additional maids!
These things sorely offset the positives of this resort, which includes a fine location, with excellent parking at the parking garage directly across the street, excellent beach access, adequate seating available at the outdoor pools, and an appreciable Continental breakfast each day beginning at 7:00 AM.
Were it not for these things, I would rate this resort a 1.0/10.
What a sincere shame to have poor management over the past few years take such a fine resort/location to such unimaginable levels!

Good
Booked room online. oceanfront with kitchenette. Room was modern and clean. Nothing like some of the horror reviews I read on this hotel. Will stay again for bike week. Great value, kids loved the pools.

Okay
Our family (ages 2, 3 and 8) enjoyed the indoor lazy river. The fun childrens pool is outside. Free breakfast was nice. Room was old. Air and heat was in a window unit above the fridge. Would'nt stay there in that part of the hotel again.

Horrible
The only plus for this hotel was the view. Did not like the fact you had to park ACROSS the street, trying to get across was a nightmare. The kitchen was old, stove & frig.both need to be replaced. The elevators were a joke and the best part yet,...

Mediocre
Be very aware the parking is across the street with no crosswalk. Very loud music at night. Included breakfast is pretty much nonexistant - stale bagels, etc. Rooms are clean.
