The Savoy has the enviable quality of being situated directly on the Via Veneto, the ideal location to sit and enjoy a morning cappucino, savour a midday lunch al fresco, or watch Rome's young and beautiful take their nighttime passaggiatta (stroll). This is a traditional Italian hotel with expansive public areas and a good standard of spacious rooms. Certainly a must hotel for anyone wanting to experience the Roman way of life.

Its name is a tribute to Queen Margaret of Savoy who in the early 20th century stayed in Rome at the palazzo Margherita next door. The Hotel Savoy made history as the historical hotel of the March on Rome, and was chosen for the interiors of Federico Fellini's film Ginger and Fred. Today, following the renovation of its facade in 1999, the building has a rather reserved, discreet and elegant look, which fits perfectly with the comfortable accommodation and style that the Hotel Savoy offers its guests. The Hotel has 6 floors, all the rooms are equipped with satellite television, mini bar, radio, hair dryer, safe deposit box, air conditioning, and all the rooms have direct dial telephone, smoke detectors, electronic lock on the door and internet wi-fi connection. The Hotel can accommodate from 10 up to 120 people in one of the 4 conference rooms available for conventions, receptions, meetings, galas or exhibits. The Savoy Rome is a superior four star Hotel located in an aristocratic and elegant 19th century palazzo on the corner of the most famous street of Rome, La Dolce Vita via Veneto.

The staff seemed preoccupied and not very helpful. The room, while large, had a terribly uncomfortable bed with sheets and blankets that were scratchy and felt like burlap. No turn down service The room had no AC or bathroom fan so every shower...
