Good
I'm glad we booked through online travel and prepaid. We wanted to extend our stay one extra day and was then told we owed $10 per day for parking for the 3 days already stayed. What a joke. Needless to say we went elsewhere. Overall it was a decent ...

Horrible
Dont waste even $1 staying here. Unbelieveably unkept and my colleague travel partner discovered bugs in the bed and switched hotels - I should have too. Rusted door frames, dirty floors, dark rooms, a shower you'd think was used to film Scarface.....

Excellent
Can't beat the location across from beach and pier, one block from famous Promenade shopping area. Rooms clean and fair (no bugs noted). The most affordable motel in the area by far. Nice helpful staff. Free wireless internet and breakfast...

This place is a dump with bed bugs. Your feet turn black walking on the carpet. We left after our first of three nights. My family was up and ready to leave this place at 7 am the next morning. You have been warned.

Close to ocean, walkways, shops and restaurants. We were charged $10.00 for parking, without advising ahead of time. Decor, especially bathroom was very outdated, cracked, poorly maintained. Room cleaned with extraordinarily strong chemicals that...
50 year old female with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure
My husband and I were first thrilled at the location and although it is more like a motel, rather than a hotel, it seemed good value for the money.
However, when we woke up the first morning to find bedbugs in both beds, it totally changed the experience! We found several of these little critters and caught three of them to show to the manager. Needless to say we immediately checked out! The manager wasn't there, so we left him our phone number. When he called us later that morning, he did not apologize. He tried to downplay the whole thing by saying that bedbugs don't live on people and don't carry diseases! I happen to know, from my work as a nurse, that bedbugs can easily travel in your luggage and infect you home and are very difficult to get rid of, but he tried to make little of it, implying I was ignorant of the subject! We told him we wouldn't pay for the night we had spend there and I thought that was extremely reasonable, considering the inconvenience to us: being bitten by bedbugs, having to find another hotel with no notice and at a higher price, having to find a way to disinfect our luggage before bringing it into our house. But the manager insisted that the best he could do was to give us 25 % off !
We called Consumer Affairs of Santa Monica and reported this. They told us that they knew of previous problems with bedbugs at the hotel! So if you are considering staying there dont! Its not worth the risk of bringing bedbugs into your home!
I want to add, that when we checked with our credit card company, we had not gotten the 25 % "sleeping-with-bugs-credit" and we are currently in the process of contesting payment.
