My boyfriend and I went to Huntington Beach for the 4th of July weekend and decided to find some place cheap to stay, which was about 20 minutes away. From looking at the pictures, it looked pretty decent for the price per night they were offering. HOWEVER, upon our arrival, the place looked extremely run down. I am assuming it used to be a RAMADA since 2 of the letters were still on the building, as so: "R A." There was no professional aspect to the staff whatsoever. The woman who checked us in was wearing a tank top and looked like she was living on the streets. She handed us our keys and said, "You have a great room... you realy do." Hmmm... I beg to differ. The elevator looked like it was about to break. AND you had to ask the front desk to press a button behind their desk to open it for you, therefore, we were stuck waiting for someone to help us open it. Half the buttons didnt light up in the dang thing and we were all the way on the 8th floor. When the elevator doors opened, I was completely shocked. The halls looked deserted, there was a dirty white couch against the wall and no sort of decoration anywhere. The buliding literally looked haunted. I was so scared to stay there and told my boyfriend I was afraid to even come back to this place at night (we stayed 2 nights!!) The room was ugly and the most discusting part of the whole thing was that next to the bed, there was a HUGE spot on the carpet that smelled like urine, and it was the only thing I smelled when laying on the bed. I was extremely grossed out and tried to mask it with perfume and other sprays. It amazed me how the maids didnt bother to clean it. It was completely obvious that something reeked in there. The television didnt even work properly, it was "snowing" the whole time! I also decided to go downstairs to ask what time continental breakfast started and the lady just shook her head and said..." No... none." They had a very nice looking area in the corner that obviously was used once for breakfast but not anymore! I honestly would have MUCH RATHER stayed at motel 6 than this dump. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS FOR EVEN THE CHEAPEST PEOPLE.

Well.... from the outside the "Plaza Hotel Santa Ana" it looks pretty decent. The lobby looks pretty nice, the staff are really friendly. "Charles and Oliver" are great people to talk to. They work the front desk. Overall the room is nice, the shower heads are a little low though, which makes it a little hard to shower, the beds are comfortable, and the balcony has an nice view of downtown santa ana. But dont forget to request a room with a fridge and microwave: because it is upon "request only"
I might stay at this hotel again, if I am in the area. The prices are also fairly decent, and I would recommend this hotel if you needed a place to stay!
Sounds like a great name for a review. My night there was not nearly as bad as other reviews. The hotel did have a dirty feeling and look. There are no alarm clocks and coffe pots in the room either. Also, the shower is best used by someone...
A Great Place to stay. Really.

Excellent
Well, I travel about 70%-80% of the year and I stay in a lot of hotels. What I liked about the Plaza were the friendly staff who have always been very helpful no matter what time of day/night it is. I usually get a room on the 9th floor where the...
Not for the squemish. Knew in advance it was a Ramada "has-been". But, the price is 1/2 (or less) that of other area hotels and if you work with them, you will get an acceptable room. Zero TV reception. Great views and the pool is kept at ...
This place is very old and run down. Everything is in need of repair. The hot water sometimes works, no alarm clock, torn curtains, scary dirty elevators. On site security hangs out chatting on the room floor lobbies while gangs of scraggy young...
I'm sure in it's day this was a beautiful hotel. It's nothing special now. The first room we were given...the door wouldn't open. The second room....had a full sized bed, when we had requested a a queen. On the third try, we got an...
