San Geronimo Lodge Inn

I am sure that things may have changed since I was a young girl in the 60's visiting my uncle who owned/ran the lodge. Back then there were horses and they put on rodeo's. Many on the reservation worked for my uncle, James Benjamin (JB) French. My uncle was a Cordon Bleu trained chef and I remember the huge table in the dining room where we ate. It was all very gorgeous. I loved the adobe structure and the huge, very, very long drive with all of the tall trees along both sides and the horses and stalls just beyond the trees. We rode to the reservation hills across the street and rode along the limestone ridges or the other direction in the flat lands along the small ranches on that road. There was a patio just inside the swimming pool patio where my Grandmother would sing opera vignette's. I remember the home in front of the lodge where my uncle lived. It was a bad day at that house when my sister threw away what she thought was a glass of ice trying to help my Aunt clean up and the "ice cubes" turned out to be my Aunt's diamond wedding bands. I think that all of us have fond memories of that tranquil, beautiful country and the historic lodge with it's beautiful authentic and historic structure. I know I have wonderful memories of my family enjoying the San Geronimo Lodge together. I believe any family would experience a wonderful time at the lodge in that beautiful country. I wish there were current pictures so that I could see the renovations.
