Mediocre
29 year old female with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure

My family and I have been going to the Sails for the past 7 years. For the previous 6, we were very pleased with everything. It seemed like such a wonderful place to bring our growing family. On our last visit, we were victims of someone stealing our things outside the room. Towels, suits, toys...etc. The entire 2nd floor on our side of the motel fell victim to this hurtful act. The owner basically said there was nothing he could do. We spoke to the police and the confirmed that there was really nothing that could be done. This we understood. We were leaving to go home the next day and made the best of our trip. A few months later, we decided to go back to the resort for a 2 day trip. Upon arrival, we were greeted with the same familiar faces. Something was different this time though. My sister and her fiance drove over from the East coast to spend the day. The owner insisted that we pay an additional $30 for each person that was visiting just for the DAY, not spending the night. He insisted that this was to offset his increased property taxes. I said this is insane! $90 for two adults and a child to spend time with their family? Are you kidding me? I brought it to the attention of the owner that we had been coming here for the past 6 years and stay for a week or two. We are local people, supporting a local family owned business and you want to be greedy? I will happily take my family and my money elsewhere! THEN, the owner had the nerve to accuse me of that previous incident where WE were robbed. I could NOT believe this! My family and myself were the VICTIMS in this and he wants to try and point the finger at me? I don't think so! I told him that money had become an evil part of that man and that I would do whatever I could to make everyone know that although this is a wonderful place to stay, there are penalties for trying to be honest (telling him that we would have day visitors). I could have just as easily not said anything about my guests, but know that honesty is the best policy. Needless to say, we are no longer going to be staying at this resort. We have found a new, nicer, cleaner, more up to date place to stay on our "staycations". Thank you.

Our first visit to the Sails and cann't wait to go back, just had a wonderful 2 weeks there. The Apartment was clean, comfortable and quiet. The landscaped ground and pool were kept spotless and right on the beach too. We loved it.

My family has only been the last 3 years, but we go with a family that has grown up there. The staff is wonderful and will go out of their way to make you feel at home. We book the same week each year, like many families, and have made lifelong friends with families all over the US. We dream about going to the Sails all year long!

The BEST on the beach – Posted Dec 23, 2007

Excellent

We have been going to Florida for 12+ years.

We've stayed in a hotel very close to Sails and had become disappointed over the security and personnel staff. One day we walked over to Sails and booked a room for the next year. Ted, who is...

I've been going back to the Sails Resort for about 15 years now, maybe more, and aside from the fact that the Sails Resort is meticulously cared for, the resort is small, intimate, and very friendly. I watched the owner's children grow up there, and now they help run the family owned business. The beach is only steps away from the pool, and shopping and restaurants are nearby. I'll be very sad if the Sails Resort is sold to allow developers to build on the location. The small size and intimate atmosphere is excellent for my vacation needs.

There was nothing to dislike about this motel. Everything was beautiful. The grounds, the pool, the beach was gorgeous and the rooms were just fine. And Ted who is the owner just made you feel at home. I haven't booked for next year but I...

Excellent
40 year old female with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure

This family owned business makes you feel like part of the family; a great place to vacation with small children, we've been going over 20 years and would not change it.

Rooms are very clean, grounds spotless, and very quiet. Construction is booming around Sails, but Sails remains simple and affordable!

It’s a must see!

The owner manager greeted us by name. Though this was only my second trip to this hotel, my husband's family has been coming here for close to twenty years. It was great being recognized as much as they were.
