I have stayed at the Sahara hotel frequently and I have often recommended it as a great value. Last stay our room was very dirty and also a smoking room and when we asked to be moved, the front desk would not move us until I became short tempered and spelled out the exact dirty conditions. Then our keycard would not work and the attitude at the desk was that we were incompetent. There are too many hotel options in Las Vegas for us to ever go back.

I am not likely to return to the Sahara Hotel and Casino.
I would not recommend it to friends.

I was very happy with this hotel. I would definitely stay there again. I was concerned that the hotel was not in the most convenient location but I found that it was not true. I would certainly recommend this hotel.

This hotel made me feel excited: There is a lot of action in the Sahara hotel and a fun atmosphere. I enjoyed it very much. I spent more time there than I had planned.

I am very likely to return to the Sahara Hotel and Casino.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

It is a really run down, cheesy, nasty, hotel with a pool and low stakes table games. If it was any worse you would have to pay me to stay there. I would never consider staying there again, and I am not picky. This hotel is missing the basics like no way to control the temperature in the room, no way to make it dark or quiet in the room, and it had a pillow that I would not give to Goodwill. It had a horrible buffet, and everything is worn out or broken.

The service was horrible. They had no desire to quickly solve my problem of being booked in a wrong room.

I have stayed at Sahara every year for four years.

It is affordable, so my money can be spent on gambling and entertainment. The monorail is convenient and we used it every day to head to more "happening" part of the strip. Then you can monorail (or cab if it got too late) back to your room for some rest.

For the few hours you spend in your room each day, it doesn’t make sense to spend big bucks on a room. The Sahara fits the bill perfectly.

The room was cleaned every day. I would not stay at the Sahara if I wanted to stay and play at same place. Since we visit many different casinos, bars, and restaurants during our stay, we like the Sahara to keep expenses down.

I have stayed at the hotel several times in the past. I have always found it to be a great value. The last time I stayed there was the last time I ever stayed there. The guest room was dirty, the desk clerk absolutely did not want to move us and only did so when I mentioned the hair and blood on the bed sheets. Then the desk personnel was totally exasperated with my husband and I when we got to our new room and found the key card did not work. It took forever to find a bellhop to come up and let us in. After that, things were ok, but the room was not cleaned well, nothing was dusted the entire time we were there, the bathroom cleaning was spotty at best and vacuuming was inexistent. There are simply too many hotel options in Las Vegas to stay somewhere awful.

I am not likely to return to the Sahara Hotel and Casino.
I would not recommend it to friends.

I usually stay at the hotel every time I go to Las Vegas. The comfort is ok because it is Las Vegas and generally people do not spend a lot of time in their hotel rooms in Las Vegas.

It was a great location within walking distance from the fashion show mall and many other attractions. The staff was friendly and helpful and it was an overall good stay.

This hotel made me feel excited: The hotel is very exciting with an excellent casino and roller coaster ride!

This hotel has our favorite atmosphere, with its beautiful indoor atrium. It is much more relaxed than on the strip. They always give us the best room possible even if it is comped. They are generous with their comps. They have one of the best and affordable buffets in Las Vegas.

This hotel made me feel relaxed: There were beautiful waterfalls and a garden, quiet rooms with quiet air conditioning and baths.

I am very likely to return to the Sahara Hotel and Casino.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

member icon Stolen iPod
Posted Dec 15, 06 by PeteK, 1 reviews
44 year old male with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

While staying at the Sahara my iPod was stolen out of my room. A hotel employee most definitely took it as I never took the iPod out of the room, never let anyone into my room and always made sure my door was locked when leaving. The only other thing I could think happened was that a maid or maintenance person left the door open at some point.

The hotel's initial response was only to say that their indemnity company would handle it within 8 to 10 days. They also discouraged me from talking to a hotel manager and did not advise me to tell the police. Ultimately, they declined to reimburse me for my loss. The hotel personnel (and the indemnity company) mainly were condescending and offered hollow and offered insincere apologies. They clearly treated me as the suspect rather than their thieving employee.

Other than the theft, the hotel was what you'd expect from a lower priced casino. The food was okay, lower limit tables were available, and the surroundings unspectacular.

I'm sure dishonest people might work in hotels all over the country, but I know that at least one of them works at the Sahara and, if you are robbed by them, the hotel will defend them and treat you as the suspect.

38 year old male with a economy budget, traveling for leisure

For a tourist on a budget, this hotel is a good deal. It is very family friendly and it is within a short walking distance from the Adventuredome at Circus Circus. It is one of the stops on the new Las Vegas Monorail, so that makes it easy to get around on the Strip without fighting traffic. Convention goers would also enjoy staying at the Sahara because one of the stops for the Monorail is at the Las Vegas Convention Center. If you are not sure about what you want to eat, the buffet can satisfy almost anyone. For the younger crowd, the hotel has an arcade. If you are not bringing a lot of luggage, you can ride the bus from the airport right to the back door of this hotel, and save a lot on cab fare! This is a good hotel for the tourist on a tight budget!

This hotel made me feel comfortable: The beds were huge and they had a nice mid-range firmness that would suit almost anybody. The housekeeping kept the room clean without disturbing my personal belongings. The restaurants and the buffet had comfortable seating. The soundproofing in my room was excellent, with no extraneous noises to disturb my sleep.

I am very likely to return to the Sahara Hotel and Casino.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

Very nice for the price... Room very clean. Was given the wrong room at first (2 double beds, requested 1 king) was easily and quickly switched by the staff. We were on the 26th floor and had a spectacular view. We did not have any luck with the slots, spent a lot of money and did not hit much on them... We really liked our stay here just not so crazy about the slots...

I am very likely to return to the Sahara Hotel and Casino.

This hotel was a great value for the price. The check-in line was long and took awhile but that was the only bad thing I have to say about this hotel.

The casino was great and they kept us full with drinks. The buffet was OK for the price. I wouldn't eat there on a weekend date because it’s not worth it. The rooms where decent. I wasn't expecting a great room. Besides, we stayed in the room a total of 6 hrs. The hotel is a ways away from everything but you could always take a taxi. If you’re going to go towards the strip during the day, I would suggest using the Deuce busses. You pay for an all day pass and it takes you right where you need to go.

All in all, if you’re looking to save some money and get a decent hotel I would suggest staying here. If you’re looking for a hotel where you don't plan on leaving the hotel that much, I would suggest staying at a more expensive hotel.

I am very likely to return to the Sahara Hotel and Casino.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

The Sahara Hotel is well worth the discounted price. The carpet is a bit worn and old, but the beds are comfortable adn the staff were friendly. They gave us a room with a balcony and a nice view. The food in the coffee shop at the hotel was ahead of most of the other casinos we visited.
