While staying at the Sahara my iPod was stolen out of my room. A hotel employee most definitely took it as I never took the iPod out of the room, never let anyone into my room and always made sure my door was locked when leaving. The only other thing I could think happened was that a maid or maintenance person left the door open at some point.
The hotel's initial response was only to say that their indemnity company would handle it within 8 to 10 days. They also discouraged me from talking to a hotel manager and did not advise me to tell the police. Ultimately, they declined to reimburse me for my loss. The hotel personnel (and the indemnity company) mainly were condescending and offered hollow and offered insincere apologies. They clearly treated me as the suspect rather than their thieving employee.
Other than the theft, the hotel was what you'd expect from a lower priced casino. The food was okay, lower limit tables were available, and the surroundings unspectacular.
I'm sure dishonest people might work in hotels all over the country, but I know that at least one of them works at the Sahara and, if you are robbed by them, the hotel will defend them and treat you as the suspect.
