If you do not have a lot of money for a Las Vegas Strip hotel, Sahara's will work. I just got home from a 3-night stay there, and it was very pleasant.

Sahara's is an old classic hotel casino that is going through a rennaissance of sorts. This was my first time getting a comp'ed room there. Hotel guests are regular down to earth folks. Just hard working decent smucks who want a little fun but cannot affort to stay at a lavish hotel.

I think Sahara's have a lot of nice amenities such as:

*convenient entrance to the Monorail.

*many slots and table games.

*buffet, snack bars, restaurants and a 24 hour restaurant.

*across the street from a nice strip mall and McDonald's.

*clean rooms and professional maid service.

I only have two only complaints about Sahara's

#1- is the slots are way too tight. Its hard to win a bonus round!

#2- The coffee in the snack bar is waaaaaay too WEAK!!!

This was my 3rd time staying at Sahara's and I will stay at Sahara's again, with or without a comp'ed room.

I highly recommend Sahara's for cost conscious travelers.

I am very likely to return to the Sahara Hotel Casino

I would definitely recommend it to friends.

Do not book over the phone. Management will not honor the rate quoted on the phone unless you have written proof. We stayed at the Sahara from December 15 through 18 and rented two rooms that were suppose to be adjoining (they were not).

Upon check out we were charged a higher room rate then quoted on the phone. When we complained to management they said since we did not book online and did not have a record of the rate (no email confirmation was given); Sahara management would not reduce the rate even though the advertised rate was cheaper during our stay or quoted two months earlier.

Our "non-smoking" room reeked of cigerette smoke. The rugs were stained. The television was small and offered few free channels. You could easily hear loud guests returning to their rooms at 2:00 am. The hotel does not offer in room coffee or hair conditioner.

Our family will never stay there again. I did share this sentiment with management who did not care. I guess Sahara has so much business that they do not have to treat customers well.

I love this place, its history, its friendly feeling, its location.

This hotel made me feel important: The Sahara hotel is well maintained and secure which is always a plus when staying at a large hotel.

I am somewhat likely to return to the Sahara Hotel and Casino.

The Sahara hotel is good value for the money, but as it has begun to increase its rates now it also needs to improve the quality of its rooms. The carpets are threadbare and they have rips. The bathrooms have incomplete remodeling in some instances, with

We have been going to the Sahara hotel for the last twenty years and we have found its atmosphere and people to our liking.

This hotel made me feel comfortable: We enjoy the choices of gambling, the variety of slot machines and the variety of table games.

My family and I stayed here in March of '07 and we were not disappointed. I would recommend the Sahara to anyone looking for comfort, cleanliness and great service not to mention the subtle ambiance of "old Vegas". The party starts here!

I stayed at the Sahara for 6 nights over a w/e in the middle of September 2007. Would not recommend staying here. The construction across the street goes on 24/7. The beds are hard, pillows lumpy. On arrival I found holes and hairs in the sheets. The place is run down. The room service is slow and food quality poor. Although the monorail is adjacent to the hotel it was a hassle going back and forth. Save yourself the $9 day pass and stay closer to the hub of the strip in a better quality hotel and you will have a more enjoyable Vegas experience.

Okay, so I'm never one to seek out a comment card, but this place was HORRIBLE. The people were rude, the place looked dirty. We'd ask for directions to something as simple as the main exit and we had to go to 5 different people, all of whom gave us the wrong directions each time. And each time we'd talk to them they'd all have an attitude problem. The first person my husband asked looked so upset that my husband even talked to him and looked like he was going to start a fight with my husband. The second person didn't even bother telling us where that lobby was, instead looked at us like we were dumb when we said "front lobby". She just said, "lobby" and walked away. The third and fourth were together, a manager and a dealer. I thought the manager would be nice, but instead he was so rude to my husband because he didn't like his shirt and said he wouldn't answer his question until my husband turned around so that he wouldn't have to look at his front (the shirt read "i love hot moms" because we just had a baby). And the manager looked so offended at the situation, each person literally would look so upset at even having to talk to us. The fifth person gave us the runaround and made us circle the place. Other than that, the place looked old and dingy and nothing looked updated in years. Stay away.

This was our first experience with the Sahara hotel. It was under complete renovation at the time, but it was a great place to stay, we really enjoyed it. We shall definitely return again.

This hotel made me feel content: The grounds security system was excellent. I felt I had no worries as to anything happening to my vehicle. The rooms were very quiet and comfortable.

We loved the Sahara hotel. They were friendly. I loved the location, the price and the food. I will definitely stay there again.

This hotel made me feel welcome: They helped with anything we needed and we lost keys and that was never a problem. They did all they could to make us happy.

For the price the Sahara hotel is ok. It definitely needs upgrading and some of the service is fair. Charging to use the computer in the business area for boarding passes, though I have been a customer for many years, does not seem right. Of course for what I pay for a room since it is a reduced rate, the hotel is ok.

This hotel made me feel entertained: They have excellent entertainment in the main show room and the lounge.

I am somewhat likely to return to the Sahara Hotel and Casino.
I might recommend it to friends.

We were sent to a room in a tower that did not have air condition. The desk clerk knew it but he did not tell us. After unpacking I called the cleaning room and I was told that the room was hot because the air conditioning unit was not on long enough. I later found that the air unit in that tower was not working and the desk people knew it. They then sent us to another room in another tower but my wife had to repack and it incurred another tip for the bellman. The desk supervisor gave us a ticket for dinner. The bathroom in the first room was dirty and the carpet on the floor was ripped in places. I would not recommend the Sahara hotel to my friends.

We recently stayed at Smokerhara and it was horrible. We booked a room with a King sized bed non-smoking. When we checked in we were informed that there were no more rooms available that were non smoking and a king sized bed. The only non smoking left were 2 doubles. Being that this was our honeymoon we reluctantly took the smoking room. It smelled horrible. We called down to the desk to ask if they had an air purifier because the stench was so bad. They informed us that they didn't but they did have febreze. He assured me that they would be up to spray the room. They never came! So I left a note for the housekeepers to please spray the room. They didn't! We even left money for a tip and they still didn't do it. I wasted so much of my perfume, my husdband's cologne, as well as my pillow spray from bath and body works. It was disgusting. The TV was a joke, we had like 5 channels and 3 of them were learn how to play channels. The bed was incredibly hard and the pillows were flat. The A/C barely pumped out any cold air at all. There were only a few good things about the hotel, the pizza at the buffet, and the pressure from the shower. We are planning another trip to Vegas, but staying as far from here as possible. The whole place reaked liked smoke, they should invest in some type of air filtration system. It was disgusting. And please get rid of those stupid resort people who do not leave you alone.

I love the Sahara Hotel. The Staff and dealers are the best on the Las Vegas Strip. They treat you with such kindness and respect. The dealers are great. Friendly isn't the word! The rooms are a little outdated but, you're only there to sleep. It's worth every cent.

The elavater are crap, scratch all to hell on the inside, half the buttons don't work, the place is about 50 years old , and smells like 50 year old cigarette smoke. The service sucks and the rooms are crap. Our room the air conditioner knobs were missing, the shower handles were stripped out so there was know way to ajust the temp of the water, and the tub did not drain.

Oh I almost forgot 2 of the 3 lights in the room did not work after maintanance changed the bulbs. If we could have gotten our money back and stayed on the street, we would have enjoyed it more. STAY AWAY FROM THIS DIVE!

I paid cash for my room but had to give a credit card and was told there would only be a $30 hold on my account. They placed a $150 on hold and because this account was only for vegas I ended up paying over $100 in fees. The hotel manager would not pay the fees or give me the name of someone else I could speak with about this problem. I could have stayed at a nicer hotel for the price I paid for this one.

my husband and i stayed here a couple of years ago and i really liked it. the pool is awesome. i liked the fact that the doors for entering both the casino and the pool are right by each other. my husbad would gamble, i would swim and we would meet for a drink and lunch and didnt have to walk miles to meet each other. the pool, and the location is the reason we are staying here again next week. for this price anywhere else you wouldnt get such a great pool. plus the casino is huge and has good restaurants.
