I really enjoyed staying in Chinatown. This hotel is also very close to a bus stop, and is within walking distance to many major tourist destinations. It is adjacent to the North Beach area, and there appeared to be many good restaurants in the...

I stayed at the SW Hotel while in San Francisco for a conference. I had a twin room, which was small, but adequate. There were no problems with my check-in, and I had not known there would be breakfast. The breakfast, however, was limited in selection. My remote was missing the first night, and I could not use the TV, but this was quickly remedied when I reported the problem the next morning. My room was exceptionally quiet. The hotel is located near a bus line, and convenient to downtown and many other parts of the city. There seemed to be many good restaurants in the area, and I loved staying in Chinatown. I would stay here again. It was a very positive experience.

First when I arrived at the Hotel they could not find the Reservation even after I gave them the printed confirmation page. Then the parking at the Hotel was Full and they Charge 20.00 a night to park there as well, and there is no mention of a parking fee while making the Reservation. I had to park 2.5 blocks away which was actually cheaper, I lucked out I guess. Rooms are small, and oddly shaped. Make sure you bring your own Pillows, because a King Size Bed only has 2 very small pillows. If you like Hard beds you will love it but you could wake up not being able to mive either, my lower back was killing me in the Morning. The showers are small and there is no anti skid in the tub so be carefull, it is easy to slip. Also the Alarm clock is over on the Desk and not near the bed, not a very good design, because if you are in bed you can not see what time it is. Also the Air Conditioner is very loud, Other than that the room was OK

Nice clean rooms, but a little small. We had a view of a brick wall.
Bathrooms were spacious, clean & modern. The continental breakfast is lacking. Can't beat the location. Right by NorthBeach. That's mainly why we stayed there.
Smack in the middle of things!

Excellent
I love staying at the SW (Sam Wong) Hotel. It must be the best deal (hotel wise) in all of San Francisco. You're right on the edge of Chinatown and just a hop, skip, and a jump away from North Beach. Plus, if you have kids with you, it's and easy ...

When vacationing in San Francisco, there's no better place than the SW Hotel.
Checking in with friendly and knowledgeable staff makes the perfect start. The hotel is in pristine condition. It provides a comfortable atmosphere, not to mention it's close to diverse eateries (North Beach, Little Italy, Chinatown) and it is within walking distance to downtown Union Square, Fisherman's Wharf, many boutique shops along the Grant Avenue and North Beach.
There's no need for a car, since the location is at the center of many attractions and there's public transportation around the corner. It's my perfect home away from home and I highly recommend it.
This place has an excellent location, giving easy access to Chinatown as well as really good Italian restaurants. The staff was very English-friendly and great in helping us tourists. My 17 year old daughter was a little nervous about staying in...
