It was a terrible stay. I stayed from 12/31-1/3 and the first morning I woke up, there was no water. I picked up the phone in the room, and the phone wasn't working. I had to go downstairs to find out what was wrong, stepping over a snoring man passed out in the hallway. The surly girl at the desk told me a drunken guest had broken a water pipe by swinging on it and no one had water. I asked where I could get some water to brush my teeth and where I might use a toilet, and she said "I don't know." I told her the phone in my room was dead, and the maintenance man standing at the desk said "O yeah, I know about that." Well, why didn't he fix it before I checked in, then? I also told her there was a man passed out in the hallway on the 3rd floor. She just said "OK”. I got no apology, and no offer of help. I went out to buy a jug of water, which I was able to get at a store around the corner. The woman at the front desk should have been able to tell me where a convenience store was. The man was still passed out in the hallway when I got back. The next night when I got to the hotel, I had no hot water and the hot water tap was sputtering and putting out brown water. I was too tired to call and complain, but thankfully, there was clean hot water the next morning. The rest of the stay was fine, though the "maid service" is a joke. I can make my own bed, and she certainly didn't clean anything.

I booked this hotel because I decided late to come to Miami for New Year’s and wanted to stay close to my friends and nothing else of a reasonable price was available. I understand that part of the issue I had was due to the very low behavior of the guests. They can't be responsible for them, but the hotel is responsible for dealing with the problems they cause and helping the other guests be comfortable. I know that service in Miami Beach is very bad in general, and it's hard to get decent staff there. I live in Manhattan, and I'm used to a very much higher standard of courteous service. The very least they should have done was have water available. If I was able to walk out and get some, their people could have as well. Or they should have offered to reimburse me for a water jug. Especially given the premium they charged for New Year's Eve, they should have had the staff on hand in anticipation of drunk and disorderly behavior. This hotel gave me a terrible start to the New Year.
