The hotel itself was well maintained, but the games in the pool area during the day were very loud. The walls were also thin and we could hear our neighbors too well. I would probably stay at an adult only hotel next vacation.

Stay away from here. The food is awful, there’s no taste to it. The whole area is slippery and my wife fell down the steps. The air-conditioning in 3 rooms we stayed did not work and the rooms smell of sewer.

My husband and I stayed at the Royal Solaris Cancun in early December 2006 and it was absolutely terrible. This was our third trip to Cancun, and definitely the worst.

To summarize, the resort is run-down, dirty, smoky, smelly, small, and in major need of upgrading and renovation.

We are not high-maintenance people and we have stayed in Hampton Inn's that were nicer than this! The rooms at the Royal Solaris smell like mold and mildew, the shower leaks, the windows leak if it rains, the floor is always damp and wet, the ceilings leak, and the sheets feel damp and dirty. Everyone smokes and there are absolutely no non-smoking areas at all. People even smoke in the elevators, and there are cigarette butts on the ground everywhere you look.

This is about a 2-star resort at most. It is a low-class, run-down resort. If you are looking for a nice relaxing vacation, do not stay here!

The rooms are smoky because the whole building shares the same A/C unit, and there are smokers everywhere in the hotel. They’re at the pool, the beach, everywhere. They do not have smoking designated areas. We were smoked out everywhere.

Their service was great, but the variety of food is not that good. I would not recommend staying here if you have asthma or young children because they will be subjected to smoke.
