We are Hawaii residents, so an interisland trip makes for a very special weekend, but conversely, we only stay a day or two at any given property. We have had two opportunities to stay at the RLR, and although the first was pleasant, it was not stellar. We made our concerns known in a polite way, since the staff was receptive to our needs. The second stay was flawless.
The tower building has been remodeled, it has been decorated in tasteful Hawaiian decor with dark woods and some bamboo. The rooms are spotless, and the pool area (there are two pools) while small is very comfortable.
The beach often has a red flag (strong current), so the pools seem to be a better option.
The Terrace restaurant is outstanding.
This is a bargain and a hidden gem in Lahaina.
