Located 10 miles from the Honolulu International Airport, in the midst of the famous Waikiki Beach area, Royal Kuhio is within walking distance of restaurants, lively clubs, authentic luaus and Hawaii's most popular cocktail/dinner shows. Enjoy the world-renowned Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center, the International Market Place and the nightclubs of Oahu. Also nearby, you will find outstanding snorkeling reefs, the North Shore's world-famous surf breaks and gorgeous mountain hiking trails. In the downtown Waikiki area, 3 blocks from the beach. Walking distance to the International Market Place and many restaurants. The Association of Apartment Owners (AOAO) at Royal Kuhio is planning a pool resealing and repair project. The Royal Kuhio AOAO does not yet have all the details or a timeline, but anticipate the pool will be closed during two (2) weeks sometimes in September or October 2009. In the past, work hours were scheduled to run from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Saturday, with the exception of U.S. national holidays. They did remind me losing room key will cost $50.00. Someone open rental car trunk and took my expensive camera and room keys, we filed police report inside hotel. They insisted charging me $50.00 when I checked out and told me to complain to Corp.

While many of the units in this property are very nice, some are very substandard. The units are handled by several different booking agencies.
If you book here, do not use Hawaiian Condo Resorts Inc. The unit we were rented had the following problems: ripped sheets on the bed, torn curtains that were stapled to the wall so they could not be opened, a toilet that would not flush, a unit that had not been updated in more than 20 years, and a strange odor in the room.
When we asked for another room, the told us nothing was available. They also charge extra fees for just about everything including a processing fee when they return your room deposit.

The hotel made me feel at ease because of the way we could go in and out without questions or even people noticing. But we were secure at the same time because of the security cards that we had.
